    Doom 3 OST

What kind of music to fit the game ? Imo some of the tracks from Doom's score were fantastic, I sometimes listen to them in MIDI files. Quake (NIN) and Quake ][ also had great musics, indeed I prefer Doom's long wistful tones to them in many ways. Do you like Trent Reznor? PS: a few years ago, videogames magazines gossiped Schwarzenneger had accepted to embody Doom's Space Marine in an adaptation of the game. Did anyone hear about it? Are they still planning to shoot a film? If already discussed, forgive me, I'll check out earlier posts.

    Worried about Doom 3

You must’ve discussed the matter a thousand times. I’ve not played Doom III yet and I know I won’t like it, I don’t like the screenshots, trailers and whatever. I read everywhere about the tech features of D3’s engine but Doom is nothing about high technology. It’s an ambience, a feeling. I like it and I still play it because it’s amazingly simple. I fear Doom III will be an enhanced ersatz of Quake III featuring some more polygons and hi-res textures. I fear it will be another Daikatana. Today it’s very hard to enter the FPS genre which is overcrowded by hundreds of ‘doom-likes’. Id’s exhuming the very name ‘Doom’ sounds an incredibly safe marketing device to make a game that sells. I wonder whether they’ll respect Doom’s original atmosphere. I just hope they won’t ‘blacken’ the name too much. You all have great hopes about D3, I’m sorry to be so pessimistic… it’s cos I’ve played Doom too much.

Is Doom Collector a bargain ?

    Ok, thank you very much
  4. I already own Doom and its sequels (of course). I’ve tried multiple patches and wrappers to update their graphics. For instance, I have the fantastic Jheretic (Heretic accelerated OpenGL or Direct3D). Does anyone know if the Collector package includes support for 3D accelerators, DirectX?.. Does it include any reprocessing (for instance of the ancient midi score) and update is it just a compilation CD of the original games? Should I buy Doom Collector or am I doomed to play with my favorite oldies in 320x200 forever? Thanx in advance,
