  1. That depends on the manner on how they have been recreated. I've seen two instances myself, the first and the most known is of course Peter Cushing in "Rogue One" and I thought they did a good job in recreating the character of Grand Moff Tarkin. They didn't recreate Peter Cushing and made a caricature of it by letting it do things the real Mr. Cushing wouldn't do, then I say it's OK since the recreation drives and is part of the (overall) story. The second instance I have witnessed, was during a 2009 concert of Jeff Wayne's "War of the Worlds" European tour (July 2nd). During that tour (the one that included Justin Hayward and Chris Thompson), Richard Burton was recreated as a hologram projected on a screen though in earlier performances, his face was projected on a large styrofoam shape that represented a head that hung somewhere above stage. I say that is OK as well since Richard Burton is such an integral part of the overall story and they didn't let him say anything he normally wouldn't say while still alive. If they would've been recreated in order to say, do or otherwise things that was either out of character they have played or them in real life or to advertise things, then it is and remains sickening . . .

    Star Trek discussions

Well . . . after watching episode 4 of Discovery, I have to say: I'm done with it. This is no longer Star Trek but something that has a Star Trek sticker attached to it. Hell, it could've been Dawson's Creek in Space or even Party of Five in Space or whatever sticker they want to stick it to but it has nothing to do with Star Trek anymore though I suspect that some problems might have arissen if they decided to call it "Bert & Ernie in Space" . . . Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the LHBT community, the first TV-kiss between a white man and a black woman and the first lesbian kiss were in Star Trek but the emphasis on the subject as portrayed and displayed as a separate storyline in Discovery is waaaayyyy too much. No, it's not my series anymore . . .

What makes a good teleport puzzle

I say it's a combination of available pads and how you use the linedefs. Either all four goes towards one destination, each linedef goes to a seporate destination or something inbetween. I really can't say what makes a good teleport puzzle . . .

    Star Trek discussions

The Orville does indeed have that bit of TOS and TNG vibe, been waiting for season 3 . . . [edit] I would like to stirr things up here: over the past years, I've been watching the fan-series "Star Trek: Continues" and though it's rougher around the edges and at certain points amateurish, I definitely like the series for what it offered which was at points far better then any official release. Too bad they were only allowed to make 11 episodes, would've liked to see the 2 that were never made . . .

    Star Trek discussions

It had but the conservative TV-audience didn't like it, so it was cancelled. Personally I say that the heydays of Star Trek are way behind us. The Next Generation was a good series, started out with storylines that were intended for Phase II but from the third season, it really gotten better and still has one of the best episodes ever made for television even if you remove the Star Trek aspect of it. Deep Space Nine was a bit darker and introduced the concept of an open war within the Trek universe, which was unthinkable if Roddenberry was still alive and had some particular good episodes (Waltz, Far beyond the stars). Voyager was a hit and miss. Too many (freelance) writers were able to roam freely with the series and the characters which ultimately resulted in a lack of coherence, except for the coffee but did Kathryn Janeway ever fiddled her com badge except for Dark Frontier ?? There isn't an episode in the series that really stands out. Enterprise started slow and really gotten its momentum during the fourth season, where stories would take two or three episodes which was the kind of pacing the series needed. I consider season 4 of Enterprise to be the best, except for the last episode which they were contractual obliged to make. If I have to choose between Discovery and Picard, I choose Picard. Discovery only has the name but has nothing to do with Star Trek. With some minor alterations, it could've been set in a different universe, name The Orville, Babylon 5, Star Wars, etc though I am wondering what the Pike spin-off is going to do. Picard is in that respect better but mainly because of Patrick Stewart but certain things such as "JL" !?!? I really can't image Riker saying that . . . In overall, it's nice entertainment but in general it's not that memorable anymore. Both George and Gene had a good idea but other people have taken it to greater heights and unfortunately we've lost those people . . .

    It's new name is..

Covid will become what the flu has been for years: an annual thing that unfortunately affects some of us more then others, just like the flu. What I fear more, is that covid is going to be misused and abused by the political elite to push their agenda through where they "normally" couldn't do. What will happen in 2022? What will happen in 2023, etc, etc, etc . . .

What games should I get based on my wishlist?

As a developer (mapper), I would suggest getting Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. If you are into mapping or modding, then both games still have a very active modding community attached to it. As singleplayer games, I would suggest Aliens vs Predator and Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (and go for the true patch, not Wesp5's "patch") . . .

I'm not against lockdowns and others implemented actions as long as they are being targeted against massive spreading the virus, which is in the Netherlands not the case. Everything which has been introduced and implemented by the Dutch government, are and have been politically motivated with the curfew debacle sitting firmly on the #1 spot. Nothing more and nothing less !! The Dutch government simple refuses to acknowledge that COVID is here to stay and refuses to take actions based for the long-term, such as upscaling intensive care capacity, which has been reduced by a factor of three in the past ten years. At the moment there is talk about introducing a "2G" society (either fully vaccinated or cured) as they have done in Austria and other countries and even re-introducing the curfew "as a last resort", which are bad decisions and will not help against spreading the virus. As for the mandatory vaccinations, if the vaccine does not protect me and I can get sick and/or I am able to roam around freely thus spread the virus despite being fully vaccinated, why would it protect you ??

What are you getting for the steam sale?

I have to check my wishlist for that to see if there are titles available that are being discounted in such a way that I am comfortable with. I'm done paying 60+ bucks for a game, especially when its just released and plagued with bugs and other issues . . .

Wilde gok: U is Nederlander ?? As for the rules from the Dutch political elite: they are and have been inconsistent and illogical and that has been the case for the almost two years that COVID emerged. The current administration IS in that respect completely and utterly incompetent and a lot of people are going to realize it. Say it yourself, we had an intelligent lockdown, then we had a full lockdown a fortnight before christmas followed by a curfew that lasted three months. Shop and restaurants were closed, then opened and now almost closed again and for what ?? Basicly we in the Netherlands are back to square one due to the incompetence and failure to implement real long-term solutions by the current administration. No wonder people are getting angry here. As for the blaming of the unvaccinated, that is the result of the propaganda against them instigated by the Dutch Minister of Health who keeps pointing the accusing finger towards the unvaccinated. The unvaccinated aren't the problem, the Minister of Health IS and REMAINS the problem since the vaccinated are spreading the virus just as fast and even faster then the unvaccinated !! Why ?? The unvaccinated have to test themselves each and everytime they want to see a movie, go to the theater or even take a pint in the local pub. Vaccinated do not have these "restrictions", they can go roam about freely because they are vaccinated and have a static QR-code, even if they carry the virus. The road to hell is paved with good intentions . . .
