Anyone who has college roomates will know what I'm talking about.
For all intents and purposes, and for the sake of argument, let's say I have a very low fixed income every month. This, of course, doesn't count for the little "nest egg" I had after buying books for classes, which amounted to less than 200.
OK, so this monthly gratuity I mentioned isn't even enough to pay for a full tank of gas anymore (yeah, I'm THAT povert right now), yet SOMEHOW my roomates expect me to pay a minimum of about 65 dollars a month for my "portion" of the electric bill, and that's not including any other expenses I have to pay for my own well-being (groceries, gas, cell phone payment, yada yada)...
Here's what makes you go "huh?":
- One roommate's dad is a lawyer, so I guess it goes without saying that his parents would be more than generous to pay a (slightly higher) portion of dough to make up for my loss...
- The roommate whose name is on the bill knows full well about my situation yet still expects me to pay him back in a week, and even if I DO get a job by then, there's no possible way I'll be paid within that time...(the job hunt has had negative turnout so far)
What's worse? I'll tell you; the first roomie I mentioned thought it was funny to print out a makeshift contract where both the billpayer and I sign it as if it was a real contract...I was outnumbered 2 to 1, so I had no choice...bleh.
Like I said, I don't say this out of no effort taken to find a job: twice already have I been told by the last place I applied to that they couldn't fit me into their schedule (I can only work weekends since I have vowed to reserve all my weekday time for studying and such)...I'm filling out more job aps as we speak.
Other than that minor peeve, life is just peachy.

I haven't stopped you from venting, I'm just trying to drag you back to the real world. I don't know your room-mates but if they are less than willing to help you out for the leccy, it suggests that you have either a) pissed them off by not managing your money properly; or b) pissed them off for some other reason.
Break out the booze, bitches, and cake, because as of 5:28 PM today I will be 19 years old.
Ugh, just discovered that WITH a curve, I got a 50 on my first Calculus test...let the rain fall, I say.
I'm also 308 bucks poorer now that I had to pay my apartment rent...guess it's time to get my ass in gear and find a job (even if that means working at McDonald's again).
Gotta compile my shopping list; at least I have enough for THAT, knowing how little I need right now.
On the up side, only 2 more days until I turn 19...but that's still 2 more years away before I graduate out of these "dry" apartments :(
Gotta finish that shopping list.
Heh...I can sympathize. My homework assignment for tonight (I think it's last night by now technicaly spekaing) is/was to write a literary alaysis of "The Lottery" (I think a lot of you have read that). Funny thing is...thats about all I was told: "Write a literary analysis". Now I have no idea how to formulate it, my miond is thinking '[ ]', and I seem to have developed narcolepsy. I'm just tearing myself apart for not being able to do this one simple fuckign assignment. I'm almost ready to drop out of college over this. :(
The title says it all. That means I have an extra hour to do whatever the fuck I want to do.
At 10:00, I start my Calculus homework, though.
G'day, for now.

Who needs a history class when you have the History Channel?
People like me who go to UTD...:(
Oh, and it was cancelled because my professor was losing her voice.
Here's how it went:
Every body comes in the room...
Professor Kuhl walks in...
She starts writing on the board...
"I'm losing my voice [blah blah blah]..."
More blurb about reading assignments...
Last line = "Class is cancelled"...
If only that would happen more often with all of my other classes.
Went to a few classes.
Began studying for my government exam.
Talked with my roommates and PA in the middle of it.
Went on to my govt. class a half-hour early so I could sharpen my pencils and study some more in the lecture hall.
Realized there was no shapener in my immidiate vicinty.
Checked the campus bookstore for one.
Didn't find one.
Hustled my ass back to my apartment to ask roomie for a pencil.
Hustled my ass back to govt. to take the exam.
Took that fuckin' exam (was easy as hell).
Returned to my aparment 2 hours earlier than usual on a Monday night.
Goofed around a for a bit and straightened out my dire financial straits with my dad and granpa on my cell.
Finished that damn computer program I wanted to finish yesterday.
Wrote this blog.
Will continue to browse the net until I'm tired.

Turns out I had more to do today than I originally thought; had some reading for history to do, so I read that chapter (excruciatingly), and read another chapter for my Freshman Interest group; found out I had missed a chapter last week, but so what? The class in itself teaches nothing more the college success tips, which anybody with half a brain should know about before they graduate high school in the first place!
I also didn't manage to get my program done, but I just have one little step to go; I'm amazed I got as far as I did today. Just gotta figure the calcluations for my amortization table, use a loop to output the table on the screen, and I'm done.
Talked to my mom online a little while ago, and I may be getting a webcam this XMas. Joy...now I can take naked pics of myself and send them to any lamer girl who wants them...God help 'em. (j/k on the naked pics part!!!!!)
I end my day with the sounds of Skinny Puppy's "Optimissed". Ah, the joy of noise.
Give me a cookie...this is my first blog.
Well, as the title suggests, I have a busy day ahead of me. After bombing my first Calculus test horribly, I've just gotten a kick in the ass to get myself to study more, but it's more than just that today.
First...fist I got to get up. Being the night-owl that I am (not to mention college freshman), I stayed up past 1 AM last night but had my alarm set for 8 this morning. Guess when I got up? 11:00. Time to utilize that concept called a time schedule, I guess.
Things to look forward to: clipping my toenails (they haven't been trimmed in forever), possibly shaving, getting my laundry done, writing, writing that paper due tomorrow for my freshman interest group session, at least starting on (if not completely finishing) my next computer science program due on Tuesday, and hopefully getting started on cramming for my Government exam tomorrow, which thankfully isn't until 7:00 PM.
If anything drastic changes, you know where to look.
