My playthrough of the first level of AKoopaSoup, I really liked the layout was clean and the Industrial sections are probably my favorite part of the Map, i am really looking forward to playing more.

I fixed the OP post, you have to use Gzdoom, it's mainly since the map was made with the Doom 1 Map-format -

It's probably best to use Vanilla textures that are loaded with the Iwad in the Doom Map builder your using, even if they are not present in the Wad it will still load them because they show up in the IWAD file needed to play the game, The shareware version I've never mapped with the Shareware so idk but this method should work, The only time i ever use textures inside the wad is when i'm using a texture pack or i import them from somewhere i found online. -

Saw up above too late lol so i ended up playing the map the way it was intended lol, Anyway it's great the final level was great, I finished it and did a bonus segment of me doing the BFG room as well, It was a very great map-pack i thoroughly enjoyed it very much, and cannot wait to play more levels you design in the future a solid 9/10 -1 point for the Arch-vile Trap in Map 2 But despite that it's still a really solid map-pack. -

Ok! i'm going to do a playthrough of the map should be up soon Update: So i played the wad, and...I have 21 minutes of me dying over and over again, Since i'm sure that's not a fun video to see i won't be publishing the video since this map is virtually impossible without cheating, I would recommend drastically altering the Enemy placement and type, I remember having to tell you this in the other map that i decided to play too. all of the issues from before are still present in this map as the other ones: Good level design and detailing, BUT lack of health, unfair fights, and it verges on being a slaughter-map in sections. i would rate it probably a 3 out of 5, mainly since i couldn't get past the first ambush in the beginning of the level and decided to not continue

It's not the same map, a new map and he has since been Banned from Doomworld so the only way for his projects to be published is through me now. But i understand and accept your reasoning for why. -

So this video took me a very long time to finish, There are 2 different reasons why: 1. I have well over a hour of Deaths all recorded that i'd like to forget solely from the Archvile and Baron Ambush, (Though i played on UV so i guess i deserve that lol) 2. another thing was the final section of getting the rad suit, i even included a little joke about how many times i had to reload, though i'm not too proud i had to resort to savescumming in order to get past some sections i love the wad so far, Caves was by far the most intense and entertaining level that shows some good use of monsters and mixing to amp up the difficulty, Overall i'm loving the Wad and should try the final Level soon! -

you won't be able to, the Floppy discs stopped being manufactured in 2003, The ONLY way to get them is to travel the Ebay highway looking for a Box set of the floppy discs for Doom, To play them you can do some magic and a drive, extract the Iwad files and use a source like Boom or Chocolate Doom to play the game in all it's glory -

Decided to do a gameplay series on the Wad, Really love the 80's aesthetic the mod goes for, honestly a really good start for a wad, Hope to continue it soon! -

so i replayed it and have came to this conclusion: The first map is bullshit and should be removed, the 2nd map is good, it's fair and balanced and with a bit more polish could be great

@Elio AF you screwed up the quote function, but regardless if the wad wanted me to use a Plasma gun it would have given it to me instead of some elaborate secret that is horribly implemented, RULE #1 for a good map layout is that the level design should not need a Arrow to point to where you need to go, I'll try again, but hopefully it's easier with the plasma

it's impossible to play on any difficulty, There's no ammo anywhere and the health power ups are nonexistent, Even with Xaser's 0verpw_x mod you can't go 1 step forward without dying, you always run out of ammo in the Arch-vile room and are forced to try to escape the room with no ammo against 5 Hell-nights and 3 Revenents, If you were going for impossible difficulty you nailed it but i quit after the 20th death in a row, I was going to do a Yt video on it for my channel but if a death Compilation is what you want to see that's all there is. I would say scrap the whole monster placement and try again, a key point is to arm the player up so they can take on the enemies you throw at them: Barons and Hell-knights should be limited in use, Unless you have alot of ammo for the Super-shotgun, Revenents and Archviles on Level 1 is a BIG NOPE which will turn any casual player away from the mod since Archviles aren't to be placed wherever the hell you feel like putting them. I didn't even bother cheating to get to the 2nd level since if the first level was like that it gave me no incentive to continue playing on.

it's not even that expensive to get the full version, If you did i would get the Doom Classic Complete for $14 from Steam, gives you Doom 1, 2, Final Doom, and Master Levels, a complete bundle of all the Doom you could ever want. OR be lazy and limit yourself on your potential for map making. Though that is a shame as the Doom community welcomes new mappers, but if that's your choice then be like that
