I'd have to say it'd probably be E1M4, that last room with the extremely dark room and hitscanners, coupled with my low health really screwed me over. -

so I'm making a map where when a monster dies, the player also dies from let's say, a presumed heart attack, I only just want the player's health to reach 0; I tried to do that with the following code: #include "zcommon.acs" script 1 OPEN { Thing_Damage(20,5,0); } it doesn't really do anything, but i set the player's tag as 20, and added the placeholder value of 5 in terms of damage, the 0 was a thing i forgot to remove from the," uh "zdoom wiki" cool coding skills section of my brain. Thanks in advance for any comment!

Honestly, I would add Ultra Violence Plus as an official difficulty, somewhere between Nightmare and Ultra Violence. (we all know what ultra violence plus is don't ask me what that means) -

Hi, I've been trying to make an Icon of Sin in my map, I already know that you need the Icon of Sin entity plus monster spawner and monster targets, but I have trouble putting his textures on the walls, can someone explain to me how I can do that?

I don't think in the vanilla Doom they could've made it one texture because the DBRAIN texture isn't automatically in the Icon of Sin, so you'll always use 3 linedefs. (I think.) Yeah, but you'll need the DBRAIN texture, the only way to make it one texture would be editing it into the Icon of Sin.

GZDoom UV continuous play: MAP01 starts in a small yard of somekind, there are lots of trees and most importantly, a fountain! That an imp thought it'll be a good idea to be on top of it, the map goes on with shooting a bunch of imps and small hitscanners, and there's a great secret that gives you a chainsaw. This map overall is nice, but not the best. -

Ah, that makes more sense now, I've tried making it as a flat wall and it's pretty hard to align the damn thing, I even had to ditch the lava brain of the Icon of Sin.

I'm a new guy to script editing and I'm slowly learning a bit of it. I made this script that's supposed to scroll a floor for a conveyor but for some reason it fails to compile the line. And to make things extra helpful for GZDoom Builder, it doesn't tell you what's wrong, it just tells you it's wrong. Here's the line. { Scroll_Floor(3, 258, 128, SCROLL_AND_CARRY) } Can someone tell me what's wrong?

I would've used Ultimate Doom Builder, but it freaks out on my machine. GZDoom Builder is my best bet for now.

I've had this idea that I wanted to use the shareware version of Doom to make WAD, and before I do it, I have a question. Can you make WADS with the shareware version of Doom? Now, I know that any ZDoom port wouldn't play the WAD if I used the shareware version, but some other source ports play it like it's just the regular version. (PrBoom+ only allows shareware mods soooo there's very little source ports that use shareware.) and I'm making the WAD as a for a "free mod" for a free Doom.

@Clippy You can map in the vanilla format first, then reopen it as UDMF format and fix anything weird that happened during the conversion.

My project had the idea to use the shareware version of Doom, not any other version, but now that I know about the Data Utility Licence, I'll go ahead and discontinue my project.
