    Arch Deluxe

Small tribute to our friendly Arch Vile. After the big encounter, I was wondering where the last horseman could be. What a bunch of rockets and ghostly demons. Kill em all midi.

    Area 51

Don't want to spoil the secrets they are working in here. Alien technology? Spaceships? The truth is out there, but so are lies.

    Annihilation 2

So much action packed in this medium size map. Lots of eye candy detail and fun combats. The last puzzle trap really caught me up.

    a big job

Krause's Big architecture in a huge abstract battleground. Intense.

    Cygnus IV - Version 2.0

Great original music. A exquisite blend of short and tense levels. Abstract details. Beautiful lighting. Spooky one.
  6. Crazy memories and lots of fun. Can't wait to see more of these ideas. I just have one request. Someone with "good" memory should make the text screens. I'm going to replay it when the midis are finished. If all doom data were destroyed by some satan doing, I'm glad the community could remember it with so much love and extra cyberdemons.

    Gestalt666's Town of Heresy

A long series of cubes hooked on a flat surface. The maulotaur is chained to the ground.

    ODYSSEY.WAD

No difficulty settings and I am a baby with potato chips hands. It's too much for me. I crawled and humped my way through the first tiny narrow passages in the pyramid. I barely could enter the second level structure. I got chopped to the bone in space. Muda Muda Muda!

    Level Uno Redux

A rework of his first map. It doesn't even tie with his own previous works. Square layouts and silly opposition. A 94' released in 97'.

    HERIAN (revision 5, 04/06/1998)

Running around in big empty areas looking for timed switches and boring enemy placement. Some levels are soo bland, others are borrowed from d, d2, heretic, hexen and maybe strife, but the gameplay is totally crippled. Big no no for me.
  12. Maybe you can try using Slade to check the slots. In Gzdoom you can type "listmaps" on console. Wow, I love his designs. Sure to check that. Magnum Opus by John "Spooky" Bye (1996) The elements in here were the ones that got me to doom. The quiet music, the unknown and the void. The fear of knowing something is there watching you. As I move on, the demons make me feel uneasy as the midi rises from the tombs. It's a great short adventure with awesome light effects. Its not his magnum opus, but a presage of what's to come.

    PAZUZU (wings of possession)

No difficulty settings. So many cramped corridors and timed switches. Hard one.
  14. Wasteland: Mountain of Fire - 1994 by Alberto Barsella Second in the Wasteland series. You start right inside the mountain, there's a lot of ammo and guns in the back that you will need right away. What can I say? I love the fire rock theme. As you travel through the caves, you will find a hidden base, but the bridge is broken. It's a big adventure trying to find what happened down there. There are puzzles and some backtracking. Don't be fooled with the ammo and health. Take care. Invasion...Level 2 - The Upper Decks - 1994 by Andy Chen, Claude Martins Epic and anachronistic map. I couldn't believe what I was seeing here. It's on the Top 25 Missed Cacowards and also on The Top 100 Most Memorable Wads. A lot of special effects, a lovely midi and custom graphics. Your ship has been attacked and there's an onboard invasion of hellspawn all over the place. Mind blowing, I don't know what to say. It's the sequel to Contamination.

    FLORCEIL.WAD

All japanese body horror condensed in a single wad. I can see some of Shinya Tsukamoto influences towards the end of the experience.

    Doom Pictures Thread 2021

After my first Florceil blind playthrough, I couldn't find the exit so I cheated my way to the center of it all: All those lovely floors and the ceiling lights made me realise the beauty and harmony of that lonely barrel. I am on the best selling show? Is there life on mars?

    The Villa of Pain

Cool lighting and simple gameplay. The secrets are too grateful. It's not so memorable like hoover dam.

    Hotel Hell

Not to be confused with the other Hotel Hell and Hell Hotel. All those slow elevators and computer switches with no clear idea of what to do in a big giant hotel. I'm too slow to make progress here.

    DOOMSTONE

A city deathmatch oriented adventure full of traps. There's a gallery with hints but it's hard to tell which doors are open. The polluted air kills you. Cool music.

    Aboo4

It's hard to describe these 4 maps. They are strange and psychedelic. I'm going to listen those midis over and over again. Also, there are some curious paintings on the house finale.

    Metro13

City levels don't appeal me at all. Except Doom City. Points for the subway exit.
  22. Argenteo

    The Bleeding Tower Of Pisa

Lots of narrow corridors, one of those fake elevators and somewhat boring fights.

    Memento Mori II

Going through these lovely maps again. What an amazing soundtrack.
