    Guys, I edited the post and upload a map. The level is a replacement of Dead Simple based on Thrash Wall's epominous album. It's set in a metal festival in hell, where a lot of zombies roam the central area between 4 stages. On the stages, there are four bands of demons raining down hellfire on the zombies. Kill them all and then face their angry roadies.

    Your Heaven and Hell idea is exactly like I imagined a map of this project to be, but I think that basing a map on a whole album instead of a song could grant the mapper a lot more freedom. For example, talking about the hypotetical Ride The Lightning map, it could be a level set in an icy, claustrophobic and full of traps cave; the player's goal is to find a way out (Trapped Under Ice). Every now and then during the level, the player may take a glimps out of the caves and discover that the whole map is set in a mysteriously frozen Egyptian settings, under a dark blue sky (reference to both the album cover and Creeping Death). The music for this level could be based on Fade to Black or Call Of Ktulu. To me, being able to use a lot of tracks as inspiration can really make for a more interesting level. Obviously, this doesn't mean that you have to make a level based on multiple songs. Talking about your Mapping skills, don't worry. If you'd like to partecipate feel free to contribute.

    Everyone is free to choose his own albums as long as they are Metal. However, since the secret map slots are for non metal albums and we obviously don't have any maps yet, your King Crimson map could be MAP31 or MAP32.

  12. Hello everyone, my name is Za_World and I am searching for mappers, music composers and texture artists to start a community project simply called "METAL". The core idea behind METAL is the following: each one of the 32 levels of the megawad is based on one metal album, and the music of that level is heavily inspired by its songs. A quick example: The level based on THE SOUND OF PERSEVERANCE by Death will be a hell level, where a mountain with a wide open will play a central role in the map geography. It will be a complex level, with many odd enemy combinations and a lot of difficult fights. On the other hand, the level based on M-16 by Sodom will be a fast and straightforward jungle level, with hordes of hitscanners and a ton of "flame based" enemies, like Lost Souls, Arch Viles and Mancubi. A Dead Simple replacement could be based on Thrash Wall's epominous album, a short and aggressive map where the players fights Mancubi and Arachnotrons in a metal festival, with the fat bastards on the stage shooting projectiles against hordes of headbanging hitscanners. SUBMISSION RULES: -The target IWAD is Doom2. -We are mapping in Doom in Hexen format. -Custom textures are allowed as long as they serve the map theme (example: for a Ride The Lightning map you may want to use a custom night skybox). -If you are able to make a midi track based on the album you choose, do it. -There is no deadline, you can submit as long as there are map slots available, just let me know that you're working on a level. -I don't want to sound like a metal elitist but the project is called Metal and you should work on maps based on the metal genre.   13. Is there a way to import monsters and textures from other Doom engine games in my Doom 2 megawad? I use Doom Builder 2 (Doom in Hexen mode) for the mapping and Slade3 for the wad management, and I'd like to use some enemies (and textures) from Heretic, Hexen and Freedoom as monsters in the secret levels. I am testing the maps in the latest versions of zDoom, gzDoom and Zandronum.

  15. Hello everyone. As you can see from the image, I am trying to make a certain sector lower when the player crosses the trigger, and I want him to raise that sector again from a different point in the map, a switch located in a nearby room. The problem is, when I get to the switch that should raise that sector, it does not work. I'm uploading a video in the .rar file, so you can see in game how it does (not) work. I am using DoomBuilder2 (Doom in Hexen format) with Doom2 as the resource wad and I am using zDoom, gzDoom and Zandronum to test the map. EDIT: in the third image it says that the action starts when the player walks over. I changed it with "player uses" but it still does not work. Video.rar
