Wow, people sure are assholes here! Baron of Hell is almost the same monster as the Hell Knight, it just has a worse name. Get over it. Some people are going to call it the Baron of Hell (especially with the hell skin) and whether or not you happen to agree with that name shouldn't dictate how your response is. Damn go back to AOL chatrooms. Edit: I looked for the spawn IDs but couldn't figure them out, sorry. I seem to remember someone posting them but they weren't like the others. Something like hell_hellknight, hell_imp.

I've been trying to find it. I searched many bricks (a lot of them look like secrets.. damn it!!) but couldn't find it. The only place I didn't check is the little offshoot RIGHT before cybie (because stepping in the middle of the room brings you to cybie). Is it in the UAC portion, or the demonic portion?

A mixture of Aliens and Demons you say? Quite interesting. It reminds me of Fallout 2 where "monsters" game under the categories of : accidental mutants, purposely mutated creatures, aliens etc. If I were to guess at Doom 2, the only monsters I could guess that would be aliens would be the arachnotron and spider mastermind, with the cyberdemon being an alien-modified demon. If there's any literature about this I wouldn't mind seeing it.

I start a new game, cheat weapons, and spawn monsters in functional UAC.

While you do have a point about the cut scenes, I kinda liked them. At least we should have one for the bosses-- the thing is some bosses become regular enemies. I consider the first time you see Mancs bosses because they kicked my ass I and need to save face ;)

I'll give you my evaluation in 9 minutes, if your server isn't a steaming pile of goo by then. First... loading? Might as well have Ben Stein lecturing during that. The music selection is very nice, but the action isn't keeping pace with it, such as when you sat next to the healy thingy. For the moments when there is no action having a quick, heavy and load beat kinda detracts. I like how you ran into a barrel with a chain saw. I usually just punch them though. I don't have anything to compare this to s I'll say it's pretty good due to the nice music and some good action, just there's a lot of down time too. Suggestion: Got any creepy music?

I don't like the final battle either. My suggestion, if anything-- make it only KILLABLE with the soul cube. Start it off with a crap load of hit points. Once it goes down from normal fire enough, cybies goes into regeneration. Use the soul cube then. Everyone wins! (someone mod... NOW) Anyhow my biggest dislike with the actual single player game is (which is common in many games) the "OH GOOD" factor. Except from one place in the game, there is exactly ONE path from point A to point B. OH GOOD! 30 other paths were destoyed but this one still works. OH GOOD! The we installed doors to Mars in JUST the right place, etc, etc. I like the idea of having parallel paths and I think it really adds to replayability.

Very nice. The caco's colors don't bother me but that eye reminds me of Gypsy.

Masterminded? uh what?? He teleported into Hell, was possessed by a demon, came back, grabbed the soul cube and teleported back. That is how all hell broke loose on Mars. He didn't mastermind anything. For the rest of the game he pretty much just runs around doing nothing. Edit: I'd imagine all the laughter/etc was him going insane from the demon who is possessing him. My guess is it was whispering some pretty naughty things in his ear the whole time.

On my computer I'd say the sounds need imrpovement. On everyone else's computer I've seen the game is MUCH darker than on mine. They all have their gamma maxed too. The difference? I have a Geforce, they all have ATI (that's the only major difference we could find). If I had a screen as dark as theirs I'd say that's my main complaint.

I can't wait to see people mod up some levels with cybies that act like normal monsters. I'd also love it if someone could make an icon of sin spewer-- a level 30 would just be a dream to me. Edit: I really like the new zombies. Big improvement all around. While I'd like the imp better with two eyes, its agility and utter ability to rip you to shreds is fantastic. Pinky is neither pink nor "ky". Its attack seems weaker than that of the imp, although it is scarier. I'd prefer a model more like the old one. Hell Knight? AHH! Owe. Very nice. I like how it just pushes everything out of the way. Caco- Nice again. I'd like a color/size change, but I like the agility. I do miss the big spiders. While I hate the little spiders of all sorts they are pretty much essential to the game. They serve the same purpose as lost souls, just lost souls are much cooler. Cyber is just awesome. I'd just prefer them to be more monster like (take damage as normal). Same with the guardian!

Vehicles just add a new element to the game besides the already existant "I have a sniper rifle and I see you so you're dead LOL n00b" or "You walked into a room but I was crouched next to the door LOL you're dead" and of course "You're on my team but this would be really funny. LOL pwn3d" These three statements encapsulate almost every FPS. But with the advent of vehicles we alos now have: "You're not in a vehicle but I am LOL 5kw15h3d" So you can see that adding vehicles is a major addition to the game.

If you kill him, the new text will keep appearing on the screen. I expected as much. What I did not expect is when I went throughout the base killing people and eventually came back, he was back typing. I killed him again and he didn't come back.

To me them burning away symbolizes they are burning INTO another place (that is, back to hell?) however when you kill them in hell, the same thing happens. I would have appreciated just any attempt at reasoning anything here ;) That being said my puny vid card thanks ID for getting rid of the dead guys.

Speaking of cheating at the beginning one of the marine areas has a plasma rifle. I don't suppose there's a legit way to get it? Edit: Also I played with monster fighting. Any sort of zombie will piss the shit out of (wait, can you piss shit? anyway) a hell knight, but the hell knight doesn't seem to care if a fellow demon is doing the damage.

My guess is that in game all monsters are trigged. Some monsters (those waiting behind doors) exist without a trigger so perhaps it will work on them.

Funniest? nah. But the coolest thing I did was shoot one of those berserk hooky thingy guys out of the air with the rocket launcher. Apparently they will even jump off high platforms and run at you.
