    Favorite Slaughter and Non-Slaughter Map/Mapset

    I mostly gravitate towards slaughtery gameplay. It's one of the only things in Doom that can keep me engaged for long enough :). Keep in mind that I have a generally loose definition for it, though. Favorite slaughtermaps: -Sunlust maps 15, 32, 28, 29 -Sunder maps 01, 02, 07, 08, 11, 14 (haven't tried the new maps yet) -Ancient Aliens maps 15, 28, 29 -Scythe maps 24, 26, 30 -NoReason's Speedmaps 2 maps 03, 30 (need to play more of this :P) Favorite ""normal"" maps lol: -Most from Scythe -A handful from BTSX (haven't played past 15) -Most from Sunlust, a few notable ones being 06, 07, 12, 21 -Most from Valiant, notable ones are 03, 05, 07, 08, 09, 11, 12 (haven't played past 18) -A few from Ancient Aliens

    What's the most annoying Doom bug?

    I'm not sure if this counts as a bug or not, but the fact that the difficulty of a glide (passing through a 32-unit gap) depends on the direction of the gap has always irked me. If you learned how to glide using the proper technique in, say, where the Doom II speedruns do in Underhalls, you wouldn't have any trouble. That's because the trick in Underhalls is a west glide. Now try to glide in from the other end of that gap. And... it just doesn't happen. West and south glides are substantially easier than east and north glides. In fact, to successfully perform a north glide, you need to achieve the lowest possible movement speed in Doom (mf1) where the gap is to get through. East glides are even worse. Instead of mf1, you need mf2. They're an exercise in frustration because of this inconsistency.

    Stardate 20x7 Map 02 in 1m49s - st702o149.zip Recorded this run for @David Asaad :). Took a good 30 minutes to learn the map and find a fast route.

    The DWIronman League dies to: Criticality & Miasma

    My first ironman submission :) Both are category 2: Criticality - dead with 12 kills, nearly 2 minutes in. Miasma - dead with 251 kills, just over 27 minutes in. Both were recorded in DSDA-Doom v0.18.0 (cl9) with advanced hud. star_march2021.zip I saw someone play Criticality on stream a while ago and knew it was a huge nonlinear map with fights that could be broken down before you initiate them. My assumption got me killed, haha. Just barely survived the first encounter and knew I would die early. Also caught a few moments of Arbys550's streamed attempt before I realized I shouldn't be watching lol. As for Miasma, I loved Mutabor and was expecting them to be similar. Had a lot of fun and survived for much longer than I expected :D. Good stuff, I should play the rest.
