Yo I see that you're new here, but low effort posts usually don't get much attention. But don't let that get you down, read this thread and get up to speed on what it takes to get some feedback on your wad!

"Nightmare Reaper" Is Out - My Music Is In It!

Hell yeah! I've been playing Nightmare Reaper for quite awhile and I have been waiting for episode three to finally drop. Not only is episode three out but one of my favorite music composers did music for it?!?! And just when I thought I couldn't like the game any more... it gets better! So Mr. Jackson, just so I'm clear you did the music for the new mini games featured in episode three?

    Ghostwire: Tokyo

Wow, this looks awesome. Definitely a game I will be downloading in the future. Also, looks like I found another Youtuber to follow. I really like the way Sphere Hunter presented the game. Thanks for the share! Also, I really like the way the hands are animated during casting. I guess you could say they have... Smoothandz? (yeah, I know. Super cheese, but I couldn't resist)

Radium - new Eternity/GZDoom map - now on idgames!

@Biodegradable Did you notice at the 7:14sh mark of your playthrough, a Revenant kills you with 99% health and 100% armor? I didn't know that was possible. I thought the most damage a revenant rocket could do was 80?

React To The Custom Title Above You

For some reason I think of the "oats" meme... this one

    .

After thinking about this for a bit, I came up with a little acronym. These are only based off my personal observations. (yeah, it might be cheesy but if can help someone out, why not give it a shot?) E - Evaluate Q - Questions U - Understand A - Analyze L - Language Start off by evaluating the situation. Is this IRL or are you chatting online? What is the common denominator that brought the both of you together? Ex, most people on this here doom forum like talking about... well doom. Find a subject both parties are interested in. Most people like talking about subjects they are interested in. Keep the questions flowing and keep them interested in the conversation. Just be sure to not bombard them with too many. Add some of your insight into the convo to break up the questions. Understand what the other person is saying. Be active in furthering the conversation. Humor can go a long way, but it's not always necessary. Be more than an AI chat bot. Keep in mind to always analyze how the other person is responding. Are the answers getting shorter? Maybe change the subject. Is the other person mentioning another subject often? Steer the convo toward that. Keep it fresh. Now this last one is the hardest to explain for IRL. Keeping tabs on your body language will go a long way. Mind other people's personal space, make eye contact (but try not to stare, that usually comes off as creepy) keep a relaxed stance (avoid crossing your arms for example) and always remember to smile. I would take a guess and assume most people appreciate positivity. As for online, keep in mind you might be talking to some from a different country. Sometimes there might be a language barrier. Be patient and try not to jump to conclusions. Like I said, this is just my personal approach. If it works for you, glad I could help! Otherwise there are plenty of very likable and intelligent people on this forum that could probably help you out. Thanks for coming to my TED talk and best of luck to you!

    Favourite menu music?

Although Top Gun doesn't have menu music, the intro has always been one of my favorites.

Infinite Ammo Starting Weapon: Good or Bad?

The first thing that comes to mind is ROTT. The MP40 is an ok weapon, but the infinite ammo makes it a viable weapon to use. I would say this is the best example I can think of off the top of my head.

    Joel Builds An Arcade Machine

Ah, I see. There's really not much you could do without cutting into and or through the side of the cabinet. Definitely agree with staying away from ideas that could end up hitting your pocket book. Now that you mention LEDs and such, I just had an idea for the marquee. LEDs have come a very long way and with the options out there, selective/programable sets are pretty much common place. Instead of perspex being a solid color, use a clear or "smoked" color perspex and program the LEDs behind it to be whatever color you want. You could keep it as a solid blue or flashing all different colors. The blue is by far the best looking color for your build, but this way would still give you that option with many more.

    Joel Builds An Arcade Machine

Ummm.... I see where you're coming from. Maybe you could try some ideas on some smaller and less expensive pieces of wood and then attach them to the side? That way if you mess up or are unhappy with the end result you could start over instead of buying and redoing half of the cabinet. Just tossing some ideas around. But nevertheless I have a feeling this is going to be awesome. I'm truly excited and can't wait for the final build. Keep up the good work there buddy!

I have to say this looks incredible. Would it be possible to use this same design technique on the sides as well? Like some simple designs or some classic game sprites?

I have to say, the blue on black really looks great. The grey looks nice and clean, but if you can stick with the blue I think that would really give the machine a great look.

dashiefrickindraws and wants to share it

I know that everyone is there own worst critic, but I think this looks awesome! The shading and contour of the colors is really well done. It's a dark and gritty tone, yet the colors and style are pleasing to look at. And if I had to sum it up with one word... groovy.

    Modern engine limitations

At the risk of being escorted to the gallows, (see what I did there?) Resident Evil 4? Ashley is no genius or anything, but she does take cover behind when you aim your weapon. Also as a bonus, you could tell her to take cover in "conveniently placed" trash bins. Out of all the games I've played that have any sort of escort objective to them, RE4 seems to me the smoothest and most manageable. (and just as I'm about to post this, I see that @Jello beat me to the punch. Glad to see I'm not alone in my little opinion boat)

    Favourite Medieval/Fantasy Melee Weapon?

The Kanabo! Kinda simple in a way. I'm not some highly trained dude with a sword, but I do know how to swing a bat. I feel like this thing would have great durability as well as some serious damage, armored or not.

    The nightmare before Christmas

I'm gonna say Halloween? I would say there are more "Halloween" themes and imagery in the movie, but I can easily see how an argument for Christmas movie could be made.

Have you ever changed your opinion on a game?

I was the same way. I took a risk and hot damn was I pleasantly surprised. It is now one of my top 10 favorite games of all time!
