  1. So, on my dentist visit today, I got my teeth cleaned up like usual, but upon viewing the x-rays, Dr. Dan noticed something was wrong with my bottom left wisdom tooth. It was growing in at a very horizontal angle and was causing problems for the tooth next door, so he let me know that I would need to have it taken out, along with the top left wisdom tooth for similar (but not as serious) reasons.

I've only had teeth removed once before, and I was only 7 or so when that happened. I'm pretty sure I was completely knocked out for that, but I wouldn't be for this operation. I was a bit nervous, as I always am before any type of major operation, but when all was said and done, the surgery really went well and both the doctor and his assistant son were pleased with my strong resistance to flinching and whatnot.

    Fast-forward to two hours later.

    Ouch.

Yes, the pain has been pretty consistent since the anesthetics have worn off, and it's annoying to have to hold an ice pack up to my cheek and bite down on gauze for periods of time. Thankfully, the pain medication has dulled it down, but soon enough it will be back. It also sucks how I can't eat the foods I like, but I suppose I will live regardless. I'd love to just lie down and listen to my music, but my stupid dock won't play the damn iPod so here I am.

Picture of the teeth in question.

tl;dr - Bashe gets some teeth pulled; it sucks

I've been there man. The five days after the wisdom teeth are removed are the worst. The weird thing about the pain after the removal is that it feels like you have an infected tooth in your gum that needs to be removed, but there's nothing there. It's a bizarre phantom pain.

The best thing is to use Tylenol every few hours to reduce the pain and hard liquor on the gum (preferably brandy swabbed on the gum with a q-tip) to provide almost complete pain relief for a short time.

Also your teeth should be used as sprites for a Doom mod. They resemble dismembered body parts.

I've gotta say they had some good perscriptions when I had my wisdom teeth out. I was nervous as fuck, but they knocked me out for the procedure and then shot my face up with novicane. I vaguely remember one of my eyes having literally gone lazy from the numbness in the few minutes after being woken up. Went home, slept for a bit, woke up and my Mom had already gotten the anti-inflamitory pills as well as the Percocets. Took 'em and I swear my mouth felt great the rest of the day. Ate nothing but soft food (polenta) for dinner and slept like a baby.

Granted my leftover pains hurt a bit when I wanted to eat, but that's obviously what the Percocet was for, and damn if I finally figured out why people get addicted to oxycontin and its related drugs.

But yeah, my brother had his teeth out years before me yet my experience was not quite as bad as his. Gotta say I would even do it again if I could :P

Wait...they diagnosed you then pulled your teeth in the same visit? That's...weird.
