Does any developer of free software really have to care about the interests of its userbase? To even call this a problem seems entitled. Graf Zhal isn't doing the Doom community a disservice by prioritizing modern features. There doesn't need to be a "take over" because GZDoom isn't the only source port.

if the idea here is that anime is feminine (obviously this is a broad statement) and doom isn't, then I think it's a little silly to imply that if you are feminine/masculine then you can only consume media that is associated with that same identity. Especially something as arbitrary and subjective as femininity/masculinity.

What are your thoughts reimplementing the boom advanced hud health/ammo/armor bars as an argument for the "text" hud components? It's just something I miss from before the hud rework. (pic is eternity but you get the point)
