I recommend you download the demo and watch it using iddt. Walkcam would also work. 21 sec: swingshot on zombieman 27 sec: caco and two pinkies caught in crusher 1:02 sec: rocket will kill baron and pinky. The baron was hit with a max damage BFG ball. 1:04 sec: rocket kills cacodemon which was punched earlier and also blows up barrels to kill 2 zombiemen 1:07 sec: BFG ball does 700 damage to baron which was already punched twice. 1:16 sec: two rockets kill everything in the closet. This takes some luck and good aim. The second rocket kills 3 pinkies. 1:26 sec: two rockets kill 3 pinkies. 1:32 sec: I punch the spectre that I skipped at 1:24 1:38 sec: I kill a pinky with a rocket. 1:41 sec: BFG tracers kill 3 of 4 pinkies below. 1:46 sec: I kill the last pinky with splash damage 1:48 sec: I kill the last caco just as I am exiting.

Oh, I used to do that, but I concluded that I didn't need it. The only place where that would save time would be before the red key or the three monsters by the last secret. It could be helpful on the 4 pinkies, but I think it would run out before then.

I think there's a spot you can stand, where the cyberdemon can't hurt you, but you can hurt it. It's probably on the other side of the switches in the center. I know it's slow for normal UV or nightmare run, but it might be reasonably fast for tank.

Yeah I highly doubt that Sedlo would have used that tool if it was not allowed. He was the sort of person who mainly wanted to challenge himself. For example he rarely used strafe50, even when it was clearly faster, and when asked, he said, "I'm not looking for easier."

I think the fact that Istvan used it is clear evidence that it is allowed, since he was the moderator of compet-n and also Adam's friend. Adam took over and kept the same language about Doom spinning utilities.

I always assumed that doom spinning utilities meant something like 180 turns. I never used it because I didn't know how to set it up, and I didn't need it to get records, but I assumed I could have. In the end it comes down to what doom spinning utilities meant, and I never even considered the possibility of using trackball, joystick, etc. I suppose hardware interpretation makes the most sense considering the time.
