I haven't been around lately. First there was two weeks driving across the country. Then after that I drove into a low concrete wall.
Nothing that bedrest and drugs can't fix. Anyway, I'll be gone for another week or two. -
Monday of this week I pulled a 13hr day on the set of Battlestar Galatica. Who really gives a flying fuck, but it made me think of Doom so here the experience is. Yeah surprisingly they decided to uncancel it and do one last season. I ended up as a BDU extra so I got the whole uniform and some ranking pins. I asked the props dude that was handing 'em out what rank it was and he said 3rd from the bottom.
If only it were star trek it would be alot cooler. But the neatest part of the whole experience was the set itself. Cramped futuristic spaceship corridors, big metal doors with crazy ass fake mag locks on them. Essentially any part of the physical set itself that appears to be metal is either wood or fibreglass. The pipes are simply PVC plumbing pipes from your hardware store. Of course it's all painted and weathered to look like metal. Only real metal was the metal grating on the floor.
Main area of filming for that day was the "church" area. It looked more like an intergalatic harem for pimps and space hos but I digress. They handed out these prop pamplets which contained writings of show religion mythos. Being bored out of my mind in between a shot setup I actually read all 13 pages.
The dude that played Dr.Bashir on Deep Space 9 plays Baltar whose supposed to be some prophet. He smokes a cigar and drinks some booze and does a monologue. Then some people shout out crap, they got upgraded to speaking dialogue which gives them a $1000 bucks and a credit towards the BC performers union. Fuckers. lol.
One of those woulda been nice. Ah well. Then some dudes get into fight and some table slammage occurs. All this over the course of 13 hrs which involved alot of sitting outside in the lot during downtime, drinking pepsi and eating donuts. I regretted not bringing my laptop to map Doom with that day.
As for Doom, the set made me think of Doom, Doom 3 and even the movie. Then I had a whole wild what if fantasy and I could make my own doom movie. Having alot of downtime there was plenty of time exploring the mental possibility. It was really cool seeing the command center set even though nothing was being shot there, and how awesome it would make for a Haunted UAC mars base. There were prop ammunition boxes lying about and I thought how many bullets they'd be able to hold. Then I saw the explosive boxes and thought rockets.
I could visualize a horrid barrage of demons coming from all angles. It's what happens to your imagination when you got too much time on your hands.-
Heh cool stuff. I kinda liked Battlestar Galactica, yea liked, not anymore though. The movie was cool (which basically tells about their war and how they got in all this trouble) and the first episode was nice (33 i think it was called), but after that it kinda went slowly downhill and becoming a real soap opera with romance, political issues, childish fighting and drama and it all gets VERY longwinded.
Anyway, enough of my opinion on the show; How long are you going to be working on this show? In which episodes can we see you? Let us know were you'll be standing and at which approx. time in the movie that is?

His name is Bear, and I hope I can handle this little thing.

Long story short: My first real relationship ended today after over a year of being together and doing a lot of memorable things. It was really inevitable due to circumstances over the last two months, and neither me nor him are really at fault. I guess I'd be more hurt and emo if I didn't know it was coming, and there weren't positive sides to it all. Maybe it all hasn't hit me yet, but right now I'm finding myself not as bothered about it as I would think I'd be. English Composition class tonight of all nights. Ugh. Maybe I'll write some emo poetry.

Friday night: I go out to a bar, hang out, have some fun. At about 1:30 a girl comes over and sits down next to me, we talk a little, next thing I know she is hanging off me and we leave together. We make out a bit on the way to my car, I drive her back to her place, make out some more, we exchange numbers and she says she'll give me a call on Saturday or I should call her.
Saturday afternoon: I give her a call and leave a message on her voicemail saying, hey, I had a great time last night, let's do it again. She text messages me a while later basically saying "ummm I was really drunk and I don't know if I remember you." We text back and forth a bit and she says we should hang out and she'll call me Sunday.
Sunday morning: She texts me asking for my email address, so I text it back to her. Pretty soon she sends me an email explaining that she was really drunk and I seemed like a nice enough guy but she felt weird calling or going out with a guy she remembers next to nothing about. I email her back saying yeah that is kind of weird and talk a bit about myself and about what she had told me on Friday. I give her my AIM name in the process
Sunday afternoon: She AIMs me and we chat for a little while. We agree to go out for a drink or something on Wednesday.
Sunday night: At about 9:30 pm she texts me again, asking if I want to go out for a drink right then. I say sure, why not, and I go over to her place, pick her up, and we go to a nearby bar for a few drinks. After about an hour we are making out again, she says she shouldn't stay up too late since she has to get up early and we go back to her place and make out some more. She says she wants me to stay the night but isn't sure because if I do there's basically no chance of her getting up early because she's going to be jumping my bones. I don't want to be screwing up her life so I take a rain check and finally leave around midnight. After all we can get busy on Wednesday.
Monday morning: I text her saying "hey thanks for last night". Pretty soon I get an email from her saying she had fun too, but she doesn't feel any chemistry between us, so have a nice life. Uh, OK?
KNOWN MISTAKES:
* Going out on Sunday night, it made me appear like I was ready to drop everything for her and she didn't have to compete for my attention.
* Acting too nice, I gave her a lot of compliments (mostly during making out) that again probably made me look weak and needy. If we're furiously making out she doesn't need much more validation that I think she's hot.
* Not pushing her to fool around on Sunday night, even if things were doomed anyway I should have done everything I could to get laid.-

What I think I might do is on Wednesday night, text her saying I'm in the area and I'm going to pop by the bar near her apartment, in case she wants to join me and have me buy her a drink...
I wouldn't do that. That looks as if you're doing everything for her again. She clearly indicated she has no interest, so drop it. Just shitty she took so long to decide, I always hate it when they first show a lot of interest and dump you after a date or 2. Bitch'n :P

Strangers in the night
exchanging glances
Wond’ring in the night
What were the chances
we’d be sharing love
Before the night was through.

I bought Far Cry yesterday and have been playing for a couple of hours now. I rate the experience the same as the first time Half Life. I play this on a AMD2000+ with radeon9500. Smooth as silk on ultra high settings. The game is beautiful. And the AI real good. Vehicles, boats, gliders, the works! Again best thing since HL.
