I can't believe Jan is still making maps, that's awesome! They are on my list now, thank you!

Wow! Thank you for that detailed reply. I looked at all of it (that's why I replied to this a bit later) and you nailed it. Most of this is exactly what I'm looking for. I really appreciate it! This will keep me occupied for a while :) Based on the screenshots, I have to say that Infection and Break Point look like the closest matches. Bastion of Chaos looks insane. I've never seen a Doom map so detailed. It's very impressive. Both Infraworld and especially Lullaby remind me of those Geocomp maps for Quake 3. I'll be sure to play these as well and of course Poogers too :)

Yeah, I love to read. This is a good recommendation. I'm already hooked. Thank you!

I was not familiar with Valiant, but it's on the list now! Switcheroom seems very creative and I like the idea. I'll definitely check those out. I've subscribed to MtPain27. I love those kind of channels. I'm still sad that Custom Gamer stopped doing videos for Quake. In regards to the patches, I'll go for Decino, because I was already sold when I saw Dutch Easter Eggs :)

Thank you! I'll be sure to check those out. They were easy enough to find, which usually means it's a good thing :)

Hello there, Although Doomworld used to be my start page all through the nineties and early zero's, I've been gone for a long time now, with the exception of occasionally checking in on some Doom 3 related content. Anyways, I'm back, wanting to scratch that original Doom itch again and obviously I've missed out on a ton of stuff. I was always a huge fan of Ola Björling, Derek MacDonald and their respective styles culminating in the amazing The Darkening Episode 2. I see on the Cacowards pages that Ola returned a couple of years back with OTEX and he's only gotten better with age. I'm currently playing through Eviternity, but I'm wondering what else I've missed that matches the style(s) mentioned above? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Feel free to educate me on whatever you think I should play as well. This post should give a good indication of my preferences. Oh, just because I haven't been lurking for years, big or popular projects did not escape my attention. So, I'm aware of things like Brutal Doom, Sigil, Doom 4 Vanilla and Total Chaos. Last year I've played and really enjoyed Corrupted Cistern. I'm also a strong supporter and Patreon of Selaco. I'm looking forward to Supplice and I was very impressed with what I saw of Possest, but that sadly seems to have been abandoned. Last but certainly not least: it warms my heart that this community is still going so strong after nearly 3 decades! Thank you all for your contributions. Kind regards, Sprony

I see, I didn’t even know there was an Xbox 360 port. How does that work? I really want to be able to play this.
-
How did you get it to run?
-
I’m using the Steam version. It’s a clean installation. It also doesn’t produce an error. It just crashes back to the desktop.
-
Does it work for you? The moment I want to load the map, it crashes the game.

Looking good. Nice use of scripting (I take it) as well. Gives combat a nice touch.

I just found out that the mod Facing Hell was supposed to add realistic water to the engine and it looked good. The screenshots are still up on their website. I never understood why water wasn't added in the first place, even though you don't necessarily need it on Mars. Quake 4 would have benefitted greatly and could have resembled Quake 2 more (in which water played a big role).

Ah, I get it now. Thanks for the clarification. Just curious, but isn't the multiplayer dead? What's the benefit of still adding that?

This is the only one I found: https://discord.gg/9wtCGHa They also have a forum: http://idtechforums.fuzzylogicinc.com/index.php

So, I'm messing around with Doom 3 again and of course that mapping urge is coming back too. What editor are you using? I think I'm settling on Dark Radiant. It works out of the box, is well supported and has an active community behind it.
