  1. News broke today of a conference being held on November 7th. This meeting will specifically be about plans for a reunion tour and whether or not it will feature new original material. Unfortunately, it seems that the current lineup will be Phil, Mike and Tony only. (Peter Gabriel hasn't ruled out the future but is adamant on working on his own material for now-- and apparently they've lost Steve Hackett's number or something.)

So after ten years and as many falsified rumors, it seems they'll finally be reuniting. I'm disappointed that there'll be no 5-piece, and I don't expect any new material to be mind-blowing... buuuuut I'd be lying if I said I won't buy a ticket.

In more immediate news, I'm heading off later tonight to catch that awesome Genesis tribute band, The Musical Box. Again. I just can't get enough of those ribcage-liquefying bass pedals.

there's an old joke my dad told me that involves being able to find at least 20 copies of "...And Then There Were Three" at ANY used record store, guerenteed.

So far, it's been true for me.

he also used to play Peter Gabrial's "Solsbury Hill" every saturday morning. I hated it.

Phil Collins should tour with Tom Petty. And Philip Glass should be on back-up piano. And stick in Kenny G. on the sax for a real night to remember.
And seriously, Starship should open for them. With "We Built This City."
