  1. We're about to discover if the "keyboard in the dishwasher" method works. The impression I got reading up on it was that it's basically a crapshoot. We'll see...

      Every time I've tried to clean a keyboard beyond the keycaps, it's died on me. Now I don't bother.

      Instead of nice, flat, plastic contacts, it has these rubber pillars, which can flop over or get pushed underneath the base, making that key unpressable until you remove the keyset. Not to mention the thing really feels like it's balancing itself on a bunch of rubber poles, giving it the tactile feedback of a teddy bear.
