    The Ultimate Bloat

I might sound very off topic, but what always bothered me about games now is how everything needs to look like real life. So real that you can see the pores on characters faces, so real you can count every piece of rock on the ground, so real that it almost looks like a movie! And yeah, this tech is cool... but I don't want to spend 2 or even 3k on a PC that can run it. It seems like it just became a luxurious thing, which probably always was, but still makes me somewhat feel low. For example, I have been playing Colin McRae Rally 3, 4 and 05 and every time I play them, I just think "Man, all I want is this same visual style, but just maybe make the physics a little better, smooth out some polygons/rough surfaces just a bit, don't even touch the texture resolution, maybe add widescreen support - I will be a happy man." That is just a racing game of course, not that much of a big scale content wise. FPS games wise, as an example, CS Source and COD 4 have the perfect graphical fidelity and visuals that just hit the spot for me, it looks just real and believable enough to me, I don't need more except a bigger map and more things to do in it. I keep fantasizing of a game like say Arma 3 with a mix of Battlefield 4, but with a visual style of CS Source with a bit of polish here and there. All I am trying to say and that's the way I see it at least - a lot of those games releasing that fit my interest, while they look "amazing", also feel incredibly empty. I want something that is new, released currently but can also just run out of the box on ancient hardware. I just don't see the appeal in spending so much on hardware, just to play something that isn't going to be worthwhile. And it feels bad for the devs, a lot of them probably get paid jack shit for putting so much effort on the work they do. Might be sounding dumb in a few places, but just my take on it.

Times you've talked to the police

The other evening at work when I was helping someone outside and then was heading back inside, a police car stopped at the stop sign and it caught me off guard a bit, as I was going to keep walking, but I was going to let him keep going. He proceeds to roll the window down, tells me he wanted to ask me a question. I was a bit worried that maybe he was looking for someone, so I walk up to him. I was thinking of so many scenarios and possibilities of what he was going to ask in that split second, so I start listening... He just asked if those plastic tabs on the boots he bought in store were security tabs and if there would be a way to take them off. I replied "Ah yeah, I would double check with the guys at the front of the store." Of course, some of my coworkers caught that and were joking about it, saying "Ah nawww, whatchu did my guy?!?!" :D

    What are your Relaxing Games?

As much as I enjoy FPS games, almost my entire life I always loved racing games. Can be both simcades or sim racing ones. As far as which ones, it would be either Race 07 (just practice sessions with other cars running as well) or Colin McRae Rally 2005, Dirt 1 and 2, Dirt 3. (I absolutely love rally, favorite sport of mine as well.) And the difficulty choices are plentiful if I am looking to do a more serious race.

My apologies if the images take too much space.

    YouTube is becoming a pain

Youtube became mundane as fuck too. Nothing seems interesting on the home page, gotta dig out an entire cave to find interesting content.

    Corn on pizza

Damn, corn on a pizza sounds good. Sweet corn specifically too. People complain too much, its simply corn, not fish eyeballs.
  10. So during 2016 I was kinda obsessed with watching crash compilations based on a racing sim called NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, and one of the videos had featured 2 songs fused into one, taken from the Justin Lowe's demo recordings. Justin was a member of After the Burial, so I checked out the band's first album Forging a Future Self and that shit was hitting hard! That record blew my mind away, at the time for me it was the heaviest shit in the world, I was still in high school at the time, so my young mind was only having a taste of what heavy music was. That band is still great actually, I listened to most of their records and they still hold up, I could never find a metalcore band that would top them, that was my number one band. Few years later, I am now just obsessed with grindcore and death metal. These days I have kinda lost that sense of heaviness, that dopamine from music if you will, but there are still songs that get my head banging and help to get through the day.

    Favorite band?

These past few months I've been enjoying some Napalm Death and Pig Destroyer. Grindcore is so fun.

Are there HUD mods for Crispy Doom?

Can't seem to run it on ChocDoom. Probably not the right way to load a wad, but what I tried doing is I chose one of the wads from the folder and then I select DOOM exe and the wad and drag them both into ChocDoom exe file and the HUD looks the same. Uhhh, so how do I load wads on ChocDoom?

Are there HUD mods for Crispy Doom?

Dang that sucks. The original HUD doesn't bother me too much anyway, I just wanted to try something new. But it's fine. I remember earlier I tried running the HXRTC HUD 7.0 and was kinda disappointing that didn't work, of course it was for GZD, but I still wanted to test it out. That HUD design for HXRTC is so awesome looking, that I wish this would be the original HUD at release of Doom 1. Would be pretty fun to play with it on Chocolate Doom or Crispy. Either way, thank you for the replies, guys.
  14. I was curious and decided to google for some HUD mods specifically for Crispy Doom port and I can't find anything at all, only GZDoom stuff. So by any chance are there any at all for Crispy?

    What are you listening to?

These past few months I've been addicted to Napalm Death's material, and a few other good death metal records. But Napalm Death absolutely slaps.
