I just about got put on the admin black-sheep list for posting a "hi i'm new" thread. Why is it that I never read the faq? And knowing admins/moddies, they'll see that thread even though, thankfully, Grazza closed it. I forsee dark days ahead...
Nah, j/kding. Im a newbie. What can I do right? At least for now, anyway...
And oh yeah, Hey everybody (I'm just trying to make a good impression...)

I missed that tag entirely. What did it do?
It went through several versions, but I think its final form was:
[bbg]n00b[/bbg] = Hello n00b, I'm BBG, one of the former Super Moderators on these forums. Please, read the FAQ which contains our rules and may also answer your questions. If you have any questions or concerns, please, feel free to contact me via a Private Message, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN or e-mail.
Note that it included links to the FAQ (which I imagine got changed after the FAQ's original location was goatsed), and also for some of the ways to contact BBG. Those links provided some interesting possibilities for tag abuse, since tags placed outside/inside the bbg tags would interact with the tags that it generated. The following worked pretty well, though nowadays I would have used the php, code, img and list tags too:
.oremoR qaF, em daer tsum uoy emag eht niw oT.
Nice twist to the last level on DOOM II. Too bad I've never heard the actual thing in person...btw it took me forever (about 41 minutes) to figure out how to kill that damn monster launcher. By then there we're enough bodies to make Texas Chainsaw Massacre look like a clean-room.
IIRC, no one has ever been banned for starting a "Hi, I'm new!" thread, but it often leads to a spam train.
Yeah. Of course, I've never been banned on a forum...yet...<.< >.>
