  1. Despite all the amusement I got from tonight, I'm really freaked out by tomorrow. I'm getting all of my four wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. None of them have surfaced yet, but from what my dentist has told me, it doesn't appear they ever will.

The last dental procedure I had was a root canal. Near the end the numbing was wearing off, but since I was already wishing it was over, I didn't say anything.

Maybe they'll put me to sleep this time?

I had all 4 wisdom teeth yanked out in one shot and they gave me hydrocodeine for it. They gave me this funny syringe-like thing to spray water over the area to clean it, too. I never used that because I was afraid to open my mouth even THAT far. I would drink milk just so I could take motrin for the inflamation. I was constantly biting down on gauze. I woke up each morning for like 3 days with my mouth crusted with blood or with a stream of it dried down my chin. The hydrocodeine didn't do much as far as altering my perception, but it made me quite sleepy. Pain was minimal through all that. I got to miss school -- yay!

A tip -- a good thing to eat is fried (hard yoke) egg with cheese shredded and melted on top of it. Then take a fork and mash it up into bits. You can easily get that onto your tounge without opening your mouth very far. This is important because you can actually rip those stitches.

They didn't put any stitches on me. O.o ^^; But I have been living off of a diet of jello, pudding and cheese-n-shells. Not to mention milkshakes.

I have to go back in a week so they can see how everything's progressing along. I feel kind of strange, it seems like my case of tinnitus (sp?) has actually calmed down since I've gotten the teeth removed.

And instead of cleaning everything out with this little straw type thing, they just told me to merely wash out with warm water. I was also told that I no longer need the gauze after today. ^^; I'm a fast healer I guess or something.

Well, I heal kinda slow, so I guess that's why I was trying to eat plenty of protein rich eggs and cheese. Heh. It was like, ALL I ate the whole time.

It doesn't sound beyond belief that having some wisdom teeth pulled out could relieve tinnitis. They could have been blocking circulation, causing buildup in spots.

Because the motion of swishing water around in one's mouth uses plenty of jaw muscle to get a good motion, they preferred that I use the funny syringe.
