Nearly forgot about this. Haven't been here in a while, have I? Happy 30th anniversary to the franchise that we have chosen to dedicate our time to here. I'm just happy to be here. Seriously.

Wow. I'd really like to see someone do that and see how it turns out. EDIT: Maybe I should do it myself. -

Man, this thread has reminded me that I should get to work on my DOOM 1 WAD. -

13. I first played 2016 on my PS4, and then I decided I'd try out the classics. Good choice.

If you could have any peice of doom merch..what would it be?

I've been thinking about getting DOOM on the PlayStation. Box, manual, and everything. Not really merch, but oh well. -
UPDATE 3: Jesus Christ, more? Yup. The Armorments.wad has portions of an XML file header; however the entire file isn't XML.
-
UPDATE 2: Renaming portsal thing.wad to .xml will display some basic XML file information, like language packs and update names.
-
UPDATE: I tried to rename portsal thing.wad to .vtf, as I saw some VTF file header info. Looked at the file in VTFEdit, but it errored on me. More info: Drawing map.wad seems to be some type of HTML or CSS file. Hellish escape.wad is encrypted. New re map thing.wad is the aformentioned Fallout Shelter image + silent Ogg Vorbis file. noneuclidian.wad is the aformentioned "bonk" sound effect. NUTS3.wad appears to be some type of metadata bank. It's referencing sounds paths like data\sound\dialog\combat\bugger\dth_slnt\h3_4_25.aif. portsal thing.wad appears to be a XML file, but I saw pieces of a VTF file header in there as well. Project Incident.wad starts with the bytes "bvc". Unknown meaning. remap thing.wad is encrypted. TempFile.wad is encrypted. The Armorments.wad is the strangest; it seems to be some type of Microsoft information logger. I saw references of "Microsoft Windows Current Version" and the like in my hex editor. Whatever these files were and what happened to them, they were never meant to be WAD files and never could be in the first place.

Took a peek at the old thread you mentioned, SLADE, and file header information in a hex editor and I was able to make 2 files usable. New re map thing.wad can be renamed to a .jpeg to display the aformentioned Fallout Shelter image. Renaming to .ogg displays the same image and plays 10 seconds of silence. noneuclidian.wad can be renamed to .ogg. Playing the file will play the aformentioned sound. It kinda sounds like a "bonk" or a "woosh". Every other file is unrecoverable.
