About the sound quality, vanilla Doom can NOT handle stereo sounds. I'm not sure about 44khz though, I know all the original sounds were around 11 and the SSG sounds in Doom II around 22. -
Iikka and Ben Morris both work at Valve? Well that partially explains the great quality of their games I guess. ;P

I remember reading an article (I believe on Slashdot) that discussed what kind of particles the collider worked with and said that the the most damaging that could happen is stuff already going on with similar particles in the universe: including on Earth. Anyone who has been paying attention to this knows that loads of scientists have manage to throw all these silly "it will destroy the world" black hole theories and such straight out the window. The odds of it actually doing anything damaging are extremely low, and if it does create a black hole it would be so small and weak that it would maybe last a fraction of a second before disappearing. This isn't fantasy, the odds of this turning into a real world Half-Life or something are pretty much impossible. I wish people would wisen up a bit and quit hopping on the tin foil hat the world will end bandwagon. Thats a pretty inaccurate model of black hole destruction, at least as I see it. :P

Heh, Iridion 3D sucked. The collision detection was irritatingly bad, and made it way too difficult. The soundtrack was *really* cool though... As for hard games, the original (non special edition) Devil May Cry 3 on Dante Must Die! mode.

Risen3D is/was a branch of Doomsday that the author of, and the author of DeepSea, both violated the license of by refusing to release the source code. Some people noticed and informed the Doomsday team. They get mad and start a huge deal about it, and manage to shut down the Risen3D project for a while and get the author of DeepSea even more universally disliked than he already was. Yeah, wasn't Deep banned for being a gigantic troll?

Heh, apparently a few Chinese restaurants in the area I'm in got busted for slave labor, by bringing in Chinese immigrants from back home and promising them "a better life"; they just had to live in the owner's house and work for them. They were also treated like shit, not even allowed to leave the house except for work or talk to anyone outside. Thank God for whistleblowers. I don't know if its true or not, I never looked up news stories or anything... its pretty crazy, but I heard it from a trusted source. Either way though luckily my favorite Chinese restaurant here is a small family owned/operated one that kicks the ass of all the other Chinese restaurants around here anyways. :P -

A month ago while driving to school I took a backroad and drove right into a massive storm cloud that about five minutes after I got out of it apparently turned into a tornado and hit the small town I had just driven out of. I was glad I left early that day.

And I just got back from seeing it and I thought it was good, I enjoyed it. It didn't get raped like the star wars prequels or anything and actually still felt like Indiana Jones, even with all the changes.

Temple of Doom is either you like it or you don't... I never could get into it personally. Something about the atmosphere of it just always kinda turned me off. I'm gonna go see Indy 4 in a couple of hours. I hope its enjoyable but I'm prepared to be a little disappointed just incase.

Scythe did this too, there's a sector type that exits the level when your health is below 20 and does damage. (Used for the ending of episode 1) Just make the player die in that sector somehow and the level should exit.

C:\Doom I have subfolders (like /ZDoom/) for specific ports and editors, and I generally just dump iwads and most pwads into the ZDoom folder. If they require another port though then they go in that specific port's folder. I also have subfolders for stuff like incomplete projects and older versions of ports all over the place (mostly in /ZDoom/) and a bunch of stuff like random graphics, wads, and stuff I'm working on just in C:\Doom and other folders. There's also multiple copies of iwads all over the place, and probably some pwads. Its kinda all over the place, I should probably clean and reorganize it and just use something like ZDL to manage everything.
