    I use gzdoom 1.0.29 and the level works great, except for bullets not hitting some enemies, the same problem that is destroying my huge level project that i been working on again off again for 3 years. I tried to fix the issue with my level and upgraded to the newest gzdoom, 1.7.0 and everything was so fucked up, i would could walk like halfway into walls without no-clipping

    holy shit!! I live in nyc and this is very accurate to the real city, fucking impressive. I have no problems running this out of doom builder. I am currently making a very large map and ran into some problems where bullets wont hit enemies, and the same thing happens here. I thought maybe it was an out dated version of GZdoom, and when I upgraded to the most recent it make it even worse! I would be able to like walk through walls for some reason, the collision detection was awful... so i dont know what it is but the most recent gzdoom fucks it all up, so I went back to my nearly 3 - year old version i was running before.

    I just dont get why it is doing this... maps like the original Deus Vault is absolutly massive, bigger than mine and more complex and has more monsters. could i try copying and pasting everything into a new file? maybe its corrupt or something?

    NOOB - Running doom wads

    wow. Thank you. its that easy. I use GZdoom, and Im actually real good at editing, I figured out multiple 3d floors, i have a few city wads with 20 story buildings, but its limited... having just discovered the hexen format thing, its really amazing what it can do and its what ive always been looking for. too bad im in the middle of an absolutly massive wad when i found out about it... it really would have helped. but how about this "Putrefier" Wad?? I downloaded it and it only came as a pk3.

    While, I am my no means a noob at doom, I been playing since 93, and making levels since 95, on and off. I know all the basics, but I can NEVER get levels I download to work. Like today I tried to get "Putrefier" off of the cacowards. Download it, and only got a pk3 file. WTF? How do I play half of the levels on this site? Seems like the only ones I can get running are like Alien Vandetta and Deus Vault, all the other stuff is gotta be in like doom in hexen format or something (which is all very new to me, up until a few years ago I was still just using WadEd lol) Help! im a noob at all this technical shit

    Its happening using GZdoom, with doom in doom format. ive only recently discovered exactly what the other formats were... like I said Im no expert but have a basic understanding. if I create something in say zdoom in hexen format do you think it would change anything?

    so i have been making levels for 15 years and have honeslty only ever finished 1 level, temple of skulls, (featured as the picture of the new levels posted every once in while here on doomworld!) im never been a pro, hell I used waded up until a few years ago. but how could I work around it? do you think this will keep on happening from now on? because my level is gigantic, a dream land kinda thing with castles huge trees mountains, ocean floor, pirate ships, lava... and i really want to keep going with this big epic theme

    Ill search for a thread... I have been using glBSP as my node builder with no prior problems. I then tried ZenNode and it didnt work at all.
  13. Im in the middle of making a very large map. No errors come up when I check the level and everything seems perfect in the map. There are two spots in my level where if you try to shoot someone with say the chaingun, it does not hit them until you walk close. However, you can shoot projectiles at them and it works fine. At one spot I am up on some stairs, shooting the chaingun and puffs of smoke are appearing, right infront of me in the middle of the air as if there is an invisible wall there. Anyone know what could possibly be going on? Thanks.

    90's mappers who are still active?

    oh man i started making levels in 94ish, i was amazed by what you could do. I have mapped on and off since then, only releasing one map list past summer, Temple of Skulls. http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=16199 mapping has changed a ton now adays with doom builder. much different than my old WadEd days! i still cant grasp or have i even tried to learn all the new tricks, and wold love to someday. but i taught myself how to make deep water and multiple levels so hey thats a step

    i see. well thank you for the feedback. i tried. i am in no way a doom newb, been playing since 93 and making levels in (cough) waded. but i am not particularly knowledgable in all the tech and crap so for that i appologize. but i hope you enjoyed playing it, i for sure had fun with it. its the only level i have ever completed out of the thousands i have made. but apparently its not done yet!
