Lost souls at half health. Pain elemental lost souls = regular lost souls, but with a different sprite (maybe valliant forgotten ones) and self-expire after 30 sec so that mopping up after PE hordes isn't a chore, but a lost soul cloud is still a threat. Remove all auto-weapon switching and safety pins (lost more runs to those than elastic and blok map combined.

Because skills like herding, optimizing splash damage, pushing through groups of different monster types etc either aren't a thing or are very muted without monster hordes. I'm not slaughter or bust, but I think it's necessary for doom's combat to reach its full potential.

Map 14 UV-Max in 7:39 has14m0739.zip Shoutout again to PR Boomer Juice, since this was pretty much a collaborative effort. Not counting some minor strat variations, I believe this to be THE glitchless UV-max route for this map. And with some GOD RNG (and some balls of steel) it has the potential for a sub 7.

MAP14 UV-Max in 09:54 Time could easily be 30 seconds lower with this route and strats, so I'll probably come back to it once the high of getting the sub 10 out of my system wears off. Pretty much said what I wanted about the map in the txt file, so I'll use this for some post-beta testing bug reporting. I encountered a map breaking bug while trying to optimize: Route is the same as you see in this demo, only after rocket launcher room you go to press the switch and trigger the floorevator fight, instead of first mopping up. All goes well until you get to the four end cybers. When you press the switch to trigger the fight, the cyber alcoves are barred by invisible walls and you get the same distortion effect as you do when you no clip.
