    YEDS is on a mission, to assemble the greatest FFA map pack in the world. The corpses will pile high. The gun barrels will always be hot and smoking. The servers will be full day and night. We will assemble the best 32 FFA maps from the history of 32in24 into one WAD. But we need your help! I've personally gone through each map that qualifies with bots and made a list of the maps that stand out to me, but I want player recommendations too from people who have played them with actual people more recently. The WADs that qualify are: 32in24 32in24-3 32in24-5 32in24-6 32in24-8 32in24-9 32in24-10 32in24-11 32in24-13 32in24-15 My notes from SP testing are in this pastebin. Please post any feedback or recommendations below. We also have plenty of people willing to hop in a server to help test at any time in the YEDS Discord.

    Yeah -13 was pretty great overall, I think I want MAP01 "LET THE BURGERS HIT THE FLOOR!" to be map01 of this compilation, it's that good. There are some maps that play better, but I do believe it epitomizes the 32in24 spirit with its design and humor and it's still mad fun. I love plasma spamming those curvy stairwells with freelook on too.

At the behest of the CTF community, I was asked to run a 32in24 in order to kickstart the 3-Way CTF Game Mode. A few old examples of this style of map exist, but they were mainly untested and janky. That's what YEDS is here for. It's time to commit mapping science. Also making its debut in this 32in24 session is a community project plan. Follow the link below to see the status of the project, get important download links, information on textures and maps, and due dates for submissions and events. If this event is successful I will gladly share the template with anyone else in the community who wants to use it in their own projects! We make 32 Doom 2 maps in 24 hours. We get together, have a good time, and compile them. Most of the time there are more than 32 maps too. Any mapper can contribute and learn. Don't be shy. These are speed maps, and the process is designed to give you feedback and allow you to grow and progress in your skills. This is the seventeenth numbered iteration in the series, and we've hosted other events as well. Make sure all maps play on MAP01, and link the midi file separate from the wad, makes the compiler's life easier. - Maps must work for ZDaemon and Zandronum 3-Way CTF Game modes.     What do you guys think of Apex Legends?

    Honestly I think it's the best "one of those" out there. It's a Battle Royale, and if you don't like those, you probably won't like this. But it's very thoughtfully designed, looks nice, and runs well, even on older hardware. Titanfall 2 was a great game, and I was disappointed to find that Apex played and felt like that but didn't have the all the cool mobility options. That said, it's grown on me after playing it quite a bit. I probably have approximately 100 hours in it so far. The team drop system and nonverbal communication with highlights and callouts are very well done, it's (so far) a very fair F2P model, and the devs have been responsive and timely in their fixes.

    My dude. We not the be all, end all. Pleasing us is not important. What's important is you understand what makes you happy and going after that. As long as what you like to do isn't hurting anyone, you should keep on doing it. Have fun, be happy, and don't worry so much what other people think. It's OK to get sad or depressed or get discouraged and cry. But at the end of the day the healthiest thing you can do is love yourself.

    A good way I've found to contribute to any online community: Listen first. Read lots of threads. Gather information. Become an expert. Once you know things, start sharing what you know. Answer questions. Be helpful. Research first, ask questions if your research doesn't turn anything up. Participate in community projects that encourage newcomers. People tend to give good feedback on these projects. You don't need to participate by working with mapping. You can make textures. Pixel art. Music. You could provide playtest feedback and bug finding. You could learn how to compile resources. Organize projects. You don't have to be explicitly "creative" to contribute to creative projects.

    I've never had problems with Windows 7 or 10 stability that wasn't directly related to the hardware I was using, and regularly have had uptimes of many months on my main machines, to say nothing of servers I work with that use Windows Server 2012 and the ilk. My BSODs have all been related to hardware, and more often than not I'm turning my computer off to put new hardware in or because of a power outage. I think my gripes about modern windows are mostly about tracking and advertising, but that's probably for another thread.

    Well then! With all of the maps addressed by Dew and Humanbones, we'll formally move into the revisions and tweaks stage. The schedule is available on the google sheet, but the deadline for revision submission will be 2/10. After that point, the gameplay team will do a final review and order the maps appropriately so they'll be easily understandable by event runners. In the meantime, Marcaek will be compiling, and I'll be working on some art and text file stuff. We're due for a release on or around 2/17. Let us know here or on our discord if you have any questions.

    Quite honestly you're not gonna find much in the way of love for pro-Trump stuff on this board. Admin team and the majority of the general population doesn't like it. Stick to Doom conversation and you're fine. Drop the edgy meme avatar and have sincere, non-trolly fun. Want good singleplayer stuff to play? Go back through past Cacowards. You can always try your hand at speedrunning to if you think you're getting good. If you want deathmatch, pick up Zandronum or maybe ZDaemon. Competitive CTF leagues are a thing. Community projects live in the Wads and Mods section if you want to put your mapping chops to the test or get feedback.

    Honestly? I'd rather have the serious map, we already have a couple dumb triangle ones in the set. If you want to keep on working on it I don't mind, as long as you can throw it up in the next day or two.
