this is the best map i have played in like, i dunno, 8+ years? sooooo sick of maps with 100's of enemies, no "vibe" just ugh. i've seen it literally a thousand times. this is such a breath of fresh air. the music, textures, everything was on POINT. I literally jumped when i went to walk out of the red clearance room after discovering i couldn't open that door, and found that surrounding had changed entirely. wasn't expecting it at all! more of this PLEASE!! I may regret saying this, but also, something that really bugs me is all of the unwarranted, outright malicious criticisms that seem to be the norm here. i dig constructive criticism, but i dunno, maybe phrase your critique in such a way that doesn't sound like you're angry at the person for creating something? but anyway, again, the map is excellent!

this is so cool! these "new" resources will be so fun to play around with.

yeah, thats the one i tried. still took me to an exe "installer". maybe its different for everyone? i dunno. really any file sharing site would be better than whatever it's hosted on now. really wanna play this! ...after i spend the next 2+ hours removing this adware from my computer. :(

wow, i can't download this at all. can someone please upload to this to /idgames? i, like an IDIOT, downloaded the installer because i could find no direct link to the wad. now i'm getting video adware for a dvd boxset of "good times" every time i click a link. im so stupid.

There seems to be a lack of wads that really defy conventional mapping standards, and with all of the tools available now, you really are (kinda) limited to your own imagination. Some that stick out in my mind are Foreverhood, and more recently, of course, AD2. Even Pagans Run put a really unique twist on gameplay, and it was relatively simple in terms of design. Surely there are more than these...?

after figuring out acs, i'm trying to see what i can do visually within the limits of doom2.exe. i didn't get very far before i received this error message when trying to run it in chocolate doom. W_CacheLumpNum: 16032933 > = numlumps" double checked my resource wad and map and nothing seems wrong.

i recall shtbag667 posting a link to a wad he created showcasing a rain effect, but it's no longer available. if i remember correctly (and i probably dont) it had a lot of vegetation and green stuff in it. so if he sees this, then great, heh. also, it appears i have two accounts. weird.

how do i view the scripts in that wad? all of the "scripts" entries in the wad just have #include "scriptname.acs" i've looked through the wad, but i cant find them...

Eh, it's been awhile since I last fired up Doom Builder. I seem to have forgotten some things. I downloaded 1.68, and I can't seem to find the option that allows you to mix the texture and flat resources... Was this a feature supported only by 1.67 or what?

Ok, so I'm using the company's laptop, and it's clear (as shown in the device manager) that my processor is designed to run at 2.80GHz. But, look in system properties>general, you'll see it's running at only 1.59GHz. Weird. Also, my wifes laptop has a similar issue. She was playing some high-end game (Doom 3, or HL2, don't remember) when out of nowhere she experienced horrible fucking FPS. Looked under system properties and found that her 1.79GHz (which is compensated with a really big cache) had dropped to 787MHz. Apparently, this occurs when you unplug the adaptor, as everything starts operating at half capacity. But, this happens even when it IS plugged in, and sometimes it only goes down to 1.58GHz regardless of the adaptor being present. I don't know what the hell either of these machines are doing, but if it helps, the first one is a Mobile Intel P4 and the second is an AMD... something. Don't have it with me at the moment.

Worked perfectly. Tried that before, but didn't see anything about CPU performance, so I disregarded it as a solution to the problem. Anyways, problem solved. Thanks. :) Now to see if it works on the other notebook.

Why are you acting like this is some kind of catering service? You're not paying anything, and the developers aren't seeing a dime, so I really don't see any reason for ANYONE to complain about installing different ports/versions to play a specific map. You have thousands of maps and quite a few ports at your disposal; all that's required of you is a little clicking and unzipping. :)

Ok, so I bought Half-Life 2 a few hours ago. Spent $40 of my fucking money. I install it and this retarded shit says I need to pay an ADDITIONAL 30 FUCKING DOLLARS TO PLAY THE GAME I JUST BOUGHT. It says I can play the demo, but I can't even get it to work. Steams forums, of course, would not allow me to post a new thread, and once I finally found their number, they said they "did not offer telephone support for any of their games." Someone please tell me I'm not doing something right. If this is true, I am taking this retarded fucking game back and never purchasing another Steam/Valve product again. Ever.

i bought it, like normal people do, from a store, in a box. i'm trying to do what BBG said, but I see nothing that says "activate a product I already own." i installed steam, but not HL2. i have no idea what to do. oh yeah, and everytime i click "activate a product on steam", nothing happens.

Does one of these exist yet? One similar to an md2 viewer where you can cycle through animations and skins and such...

how the fuck is it possible to run doom on an ipod?! i thought all an ipod is is an audio playback device... i didn't think it had like a processor or memory or any of that shit. weird. eh, i'm totally ignorant when it comes to anything other than desktops and laptops anyway
