  1. As a christmas gift I recieved a Casio General MIDI keyboard. Let's just say I'm starting to get good at it and have been playing some samples from popular songs and video game sounds such as:

    Doom(E1m4, E2m4, E2m6)
    Linkin Park- Don't Stay

Yeah that's about it, but in time I think I can start getting ready to making my own level music to express how the intensity of the map is. If you guys do know of any online lessons or something I'd glady appreciate links to them since I've had no luck finding any.

Korg and Ensoniq are nice, but not nearly what I'm looking for. They don't have the sound quality or richness that I want. What I want...is a Prophet-5 from Sequential Circuts. Now that's a synthesizer. Or a MiniMoog Voyager would be nice.

"well if you're going to be playing back multiple tracks to record a professional recording, you OBVIOUSLY don't want any of the FX on the sounds because you'll be adding them AFTER you record your song", as if I just have about 10 extra boards sitting around to duplicate the original FX I wanted.

Actually, I have the same issue on my Roland JV-1010 synth module. Things will sound different when they are played back under Patch mode than when they are played under Perform mode, and it's due to the FX units being applied (or rather, not). Under Patch mode, I can only have one track going at once. There's some screwy way to sorta enable it from software they sent with it, but not fully and not easily. There may be a way to do it through SYSEX, but I'd rather not. So...I just record each track seperately anyways and add effects through ACID afterwards. A pain...but sounds good.
