  1. Mmphm pffmph-- *removes hood* Ah, that's better. Well, I seem to have wandered into Hell, again. Surprised I'm not a VIP here, heh. Anyways, here's some info about the dude controlling Kenny's mind. (Scary) I'm an upcoming college freshman at USC Columbia, where I plan to major in Computer Science, and also take NROTC to work towards my Naval Commission.

I'm a South Park fan, obviously, and I first discovered DOOM when it came as Shareware on a GamePak CD for my SoundBlaster. Included was Descent: Destination Saturn [the extended shareware version], DOOM Shareware, Heretic Shareware, and the 6-level "Special Edition" of Warcraft. Still have that CD, actually. Well, bye for now...

well, "hi! I'm new" thread will get helled...better post quick

Someone needs to read or reread the updated FAQ, especially the part about backseat modding...this isn't an ordinary welcome thread.

  2. USC (Univ. of South Carolina) wins the NIT (Nat'l Invitational Tournament [basketball]) against St. Joseph's with a final score of 60-57 USC! Wooo! We are the champions!! Go Cocks!!

Also, I was finishing up Refueling Base, took forever b/c I kept overlooking the yellow key, and I was on my way back to the yellow door, and I noticed a Lost Soul I had killed, his fireball was still there, it hadn't dissappated. Lol, cool jDoom glitch. I think it was b/c it got caught in a door or something, I don't know.

      Wait... oh.

  3. You know you're addicted to the internet when you use posts from a discussion thread you were in in an english paper. Yep, I did that today. Not here though, from a Battletech forum I'm on.

Also almost pissed myself because of that flying chair in Doom 3. JEEZ!! That and wasted like 15 rounds from the machine gun shooting at it. At least now with the Xbox I can concentrate more on the game rather than my PC freezing up.

Bleh, CAD Online's better IMHO. Besides, they beat Penny Arcade to the punch by a year, PLUS their's happens to be about Doom.

Then of course there's the rehab clinic.

The BTU forum (Battletech Universe, http://battletechuniverse.org/hpguplink) I'm Phelan Kell on there; surprised that that name didn't get ed up sooner.

  4. Well, since my Doom 3 PC experience a few months back wasn't the best (my specs are crap, only 64 mb Intel card, stupid on-board lappys), today I'm gonna go by Wal-Mart and pick up Doom 3 for Xbox. I might as well splurge and get the CE while I'm at it, get ANOTHER copy of Doom and Doom II, lol...but on Xbox, ahhhh. Can show all my Halo friends my oldschool mad Doomskills, heh. SSG is your friend!!!

I recently rented Doom3: ROE on XBOX, and I find it sexier looking and more fun in general.

If you are getting Doom 3 ROE for Xbox there is little reason to get the CE edition of Doom 3 over the original.

  5. I have finally acquired DooM 3, and just...wow. I'm having ot play it lo-res, and it crashes a bit often, but still, wow. id has outdone itself. Perhaps they should try the HL multi-storyline approach, and have an addon pack where you're a scientist with some dirt on UAC, and you have to get out alive or whatnot. Idea for a mod perhaps...?

  6. I was reminded today of an interesting dream I had years ago, around the time Doom 64 came out.

After reading the Gamepro magazine about it (and in hindsight I wish I had kept the thing) I had a dream that a Cyberdemon was out to get me. I was in a grocery store with my mother, going from aisle to aisle. I looked down one aisle and saw the Cyberdemon. Dunno what he was shopping for...or was he working a counter in the back, lol, I don't remember, anyways. I hurridly began to make for the exit, but I couldn't explain to my mother what was going on for some reason. So we were waiting at the checkout, when I look back and see the horns and half the head poking up from the aisles. Needless to say I got really nervous, and he got closer and closer, was up on me...and then I woke up.

    Wierdness.

  7. Well I finally downloaded jDoom today. Three words: OH MY GOD!!! The 3d models, the new textures, wtf have I been missing?! I only wish that it would be more popular on Doom Connector, lol.

  8. Yep. I'm still at work. Stuck a bit right now, though. Can't get the door textures and the surrounding textures to act right. Help with testing/developing is greatly appreciated, and I'll gladly credit you.

Does anyone remember the Gamepro magazine some years ago that featured a Doom64 article, plus one on Final Doom? I had the magazine, but I trashed it. (stupid) Does someone have a scanned copy of the articles, or something?

      Lüt

No, but I've got a bunch of magazines from around the time Doom hit most of the major consoles. Most of the reviews are for the 32X, Jaguar and SNES versions. The only GamePro I still have covered the 32X version.
