It's quite amusing that every time you see an 'X' post being used on TV at the moment the producers now write "formerly known as Twitter" immediately after it.

I'm still amazed that some people can be immune to spicy heat, being able to eat any chili without feeling pain. A couple of years ago I remember someone setting a world record by eating 22 Carolina Reapers in one minute.

Bournville dark chocolate. Only 40% cocoa content, but amazing nonetheless.

Do you know some obscure 1990's PC games?
ColonelDuff replied to Pixel Fiend's topic in Everything Else
I really enjoyed Dark Seed when it was released. An H.R. Giger inspired, psychological horror, point-and-click. I’ve got no idea how it holds up now but back then it was brilliant. -
I admire your dedication, that's a lot of YouTube time! Wholeheartedly agree about the id games though. :-)

Absolutely. Doomworld has its origins back in 1998 when it was started by Linguica, Mordeth and Dukrous.

This is like being asked to name your favourite child... I can't pick just one, but my top three (which constantly vie for the top spot) are: Rebecca (Daphne du Maurier) Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (John le Carré) Brideshead Revisited (Evelyn Waugh)

I love cricket but know my limitations as a player, so I recently qualified as an umpire.

Things are starting to turn autumnal here (Northern England), so I'm getting into an ambient, dark folk sort of mood...

It was Feb/Mar in 1994 and I was in the computer room at university, trying unsuccessfully to write an essay. Someone passed me a handful of floppy discs and said "give this a go". I'd only really played games like Worms, Super Mario, Tetris and Pacman before then, so playing Doom (even on a 386) blew my mind. A couple of weeks later the university bought some 486s and the difference was incredible.
