i upgraded from 512mb to 1Gb and it made a massive diffirence. All those choppy bits were completely smoothed out. I'd definitely recommend 1Gb ram.

i have amd 2500+/ 9800 pro/ 1gb ram = 37.5fps timedemo (1024x768 high)

maybe it is a cpu thing. I have AMD 2500+ & 9800 Pro 128mb & 1GB ram . I can run it on High with everything on except AA. Timedemo 37.5 fps (1024x768) in game it plays ok for the most part but ive seen it drop to 20fps :/ I would think it more likely to be a graphics setting, have u tried taking specular effects off? (in system>advanced), strange u would think it would still run it eh?

keep going and u will go through 2 dorrs i think, then a ladder takes u down to a control panel which says "unlock freight door" or something , did u do that? edit/ oh u found it well done :)

dude its easy. now u have that PDA u can go through all the doors that were red b4. after collecting the pda go back out and round to the left>through red door> then go straight ahead and u will see the door marked "garage" on ur right. Run straight past this through the red door thats round the corner a bit. You see this door on the load screen when ur current level err...loads!

interesting comparing what younger & older people thought of this game. I'm 28 and played the original doom when it came out and I was blown away by it!! It was after doom that fps became my favourite genre. Now Ive played alot of fps since then and each good one always added something new. Doom 3 however did not (besides graphics) I found the whole thing boring and repetitive. This review here sums it up for me http://www.somethingawful.com/ I'm sorry but all you people saying "its a remake of the original- its suppose to be like that". Like what? boring and repetitive no new gameplay or imagination. Maybe it is an age thing and the youngsters today just look at the graphics because i dont know how you could actually enjoy this game. oh well i'm hoping hl2 can restore my faith in game developers.

at the very end when u meet the big boss dude it goes into cut scene mode and u see ur chararcter step through the legs of the creature. It then shows a close up of your marine and he mouths the word "fuck" lol . anyone else notice it? its the only part of the game i actaully laughed at!

i pld this game and finished it on easy. Verdict: mediocre, quite boring and repetetive 6.5/10. I have absolutely no desire to play it again on any difficulty level or with cheats or if it was the only game in existance and if i didnt play it i would have to knit cardigans all day.! this review sums it up really well http://www.somethingawful.com/

ok i made my way through the recycling sector and have come to an airlock. I go outside there were 2 monsters who fire rockets at me i killed them both but the door on the far side is red (locked) is there another way? where do i go?? :(
