stuck in beggining of Recyling Center 2

I would, but the room where his "silent speech" occurs is where I'm stuck in. I couldn't get to that door unless I set noclip...

Best 86.90 I ever spent (well, there was that one time I got rid of that guy I shot in Vegas... never mind). Thanks for the tip! Why didn't I think of that?! Must be why you charge 20 bucks for a "coolness" charge. <In Ralph Wiggum voice> Just like ticketmaster!

Okay, so I guess this is goint to turn out as sort of a warning, as I tried reinstalling the game, and I'm still stuck. I guess I'll have to wait for a patch, or play the previous damn level all over again (groan)...

Ah-ha! That must be it. I talked to someone else, and they think that part had a monster break the window. Unfortunately... no monster breaks anything. Screwed, I am. Try or try not, there is no do...

I know that room, and that occured before. This is after you have to battle the two rocket-launching demons outside (and get to the airlock).

The flow of the game tells me that the door SHOULD open, but it does not... anyone know anything about what I'm talking about ???!!!

Before I enter the room I'm stuck in, there are broken stairs that collapse when I try to jump onto them. There is nothing to jump up to within the room. This seems like a glitch, or something. The crazy scientist doesn't have any audio, the door's not opening... sounds screwed to me.

    bad performance with 9600XT and Athlon64 3200+?

AND LASTLY (I swear), try going to the advanced options and turning off shadows. They don't really affect gameplay that much, and you could get a decent fps boost.

    bad performance with 9600XT and Athlon64 3200+?

Additionaly, ever heard of omegadrivers.net? Head over there, and give those drivers a try. They usually increase either framerates/visual quality slightly, plus they include utilities for overclocking your card (dangerous if you're a newb). What kind of fps do you get during gameplay, would you guesstimate?

    bad performance with 9600XT and Athlon64 3200+?

Make sure you have the latest drivers, or try the catalyst 4.9's (teamradeon.com). Then, try the trick posted today on doomworld.com's main page (it's a link to a message board). ...any luck?

Would more ram help my lowend system?

Dude: Two things, really. Your celeron blows. Not your fault, they just do. Never buy one again. Secondly, the game's sys requirements specify ram requirements as 384... but, if you been playing pc games for a little while, then you know that this is the sys-requiremtns game, and that the recommended sys specs are really the minimum. I'd say 512, min. And how much cash do you have? Get an nvidia 5700 or an ati 9600. Those'll run you around 125 bones. And if you still can't afford that, then I'd stick to consoles... it's waaaaaay cheaper (but les s rewarding).

Try turning your swap/page file off

I've got 1.25 gigs of ram, and I can't say if this is just a general tweak, or Doom 3 specific, but I noticed a slight fps boost when I set my page file to "No paging file".

stuck in beggining of Recyling Center 2

I go into a room with glass windows, and I have to activate some pump. When I press the button, the crazy scientist dude comes on, yet I can't hear anything he's saying. An imp crawls across the windows. The dude's silent speech ends, and the terminals show a readout of the pump. Okay, big deal. Now, I try to leave, but the door won't open. There's no way out. I'm trapped. I'm pretty sure I have to activate this pump thing, but that always traps me. Help!!!
