Ecstacy ownz, so bad for you but so much fun at the same time.

Well, when I tried it about a year ago, it was filled with more ad-ware than Kazaa and crashed 90% of the time you started it up. Basically, it's a piece of shit.

Or maybe it has scratches in it. May sound stupid, but I had problems getting System Shock 2 installed because it had a fingerprint on it and it couldn't read the disc.

I hope they somehow sponateously combust, along with their car.

I first played Doom 2 when I was 3. No wonder I'm so messed up now.

Yes, yes I already knew this. A more summarized version of the story from another website. LOS ANGELES (October 18, 2004) – Vivendi Universal Games (VU Games) today announced that Half-Life® 2, the sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed PC titles in gaming history, will ship to retail outlets around the world in November. Even though ValVe, the company that created Half-Life 2 said their release date to be November 1st, Vivendi announced that Half-Life 2 has gone gold only now with a planned retail street date of November 16, 2004. The countdown to the highly anticipated retail street date has begun around the world, as VU Games completes plans to ship localized versions of Half-Life 2 simultaneously in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Korean, Thai and Japanese. Uh-Oh Doom 3's got competition! Hah, let the computer game war begin! <evil face>

I was just wondering, being an athiest, and not believing in Hell and such, if it effected any other athiests out there. I know when I was playing through, I was glad that I found out that Hell and such was just some ancient, advanced civilization and that the forces Heaven was a talking box with razors on it. This appealed to me a lot, since I didn't really enjoy the "religous" part the game had. If there are any other athiests out there, do/did you feel the same?

Doom worked fine... put new vidcard in... now it doesn't.

X-Box has something equivalent to a 866 MHz processor, yet contains a marvelous "rip-off" of the NVidia GeForce FX 5900 256 MB. So, it can handle the graphics, but not with its crappy processor, which is why they have to tone down Doom 3. If I remember correctly, the PS2 has something equivalent to a 566 MHz processor and an almost identical graphics card as an NVidia GeForce FX 5200 128 MB. Infer for yourself if Doom 3 will run on a PS2.
-
First of all, the X-Box port for Doom 3 hasn't even been released yet. Next, the PS2's shitty processor and graphics card comes nowhere close to even being able to run Doom 3 on even the lowest graphic detail. Last, this question has been answered many times before, try using the search button, or maybe using a search engine like Google. So in one word. No.

Yeah, the basic foundation of athiesm is the thought that each individual is in control of their own life, and that we pretty much rule our own lives. Anyways, Doom and Doom 2 appealed to me as a Christain, but when I went athiest, I stopped playing them. However, I couldn't pass up Doom 3, which is why I bought it and played it. Anyways, thanks for all your responses without too much flaming.

Oh, your too kind AgentSpork. <Kills AgentSpork> Oh... seems like I'll be takin' it now, thank you.

Bleh, get a new video card. Or re-format. Your pick.
-
It could also be from your video card swapping graphics. If you have a 256 MB card, and run on ultra, it could do this. Or if you have a 128 MB card, and run it on high, it could do this. The thing is, that Doom III's textures are very detailed, thus larger in size. Your video card lags the first few seconds of a game because it has to render all the graphics into your card's memory. Then, with the textures already loaded on there, it doesn't have to re-render those graphics anymore, increasing framerate. However, when you get to a door, it usually open to a different area with new textures and graphics. If you video card's memory is already filled, then your graphics card will have to swap the graphics. It would have to unload the graphics from it's memory, and load the new ones. This could take from almost one second to thirty second, depending on the CPU of your graphics card. This, also, could be the reason you're expierencing the freezing after opening doors... Or at least I think that's how it works... somethin' like that.

NVidia's Detonator drivers are horrible for newer games. I use the ForceWare drivers, I get almost a 15 FPS increase in Doom III, and more in other games.
