OK so apparently next week I'll find out whether I get a position that 1) is what I want to be doing, 2) I am more qualified for than any other job, 3) pays higher than any other job I've interviewed for, 4) has an excellent benefit package, 5) is a 20-minute walk from where I'd be living, 6) is exactly one streetlight away from a swinging english pub, and 7) had an interview that went better than any other interview I've ever had, ever. If by some twist of tragic fate I don't get it, I will likely enter a depressive state of hibernation, interviewing for positions that I am less qualified for, completely unenthusiastic about, paying less than half of what I'm supposedly worth. It would also mean I would continue living with next to no social life (as I've done for the last year or so). On the other hand if (by all rights) I do get it, I will actually start living like a normal, successful person.
But first thing's first: 10AM Monday morning, have a partially-exposed wisdom tooth removed, which apparently will have a longer recovery time than the one I had removed last week.
