    sounds slow doom 3

Doom 3 with sounds runs a lot slower than the timedemo. I tried to play without sounds and the game run better. I'm playing in high quality. Which console commands can I use to reduce sound quality a bit keeping high level details? this is my conf: - 2.6GHz with Hyper-Threading. - Nvidia ge-force 5900xt 128 Mb (overclocked) - 512 Mb RaM. - soundmax thanks -mario

    objects cast strange shadows

in the second image the crate with the chainsaw box on the top seems to cast a shadow on the stairs, but the shadow seems just a square to me. maybe I am wrong. ok thanks -mario

    processor speed bottleneck

My sytem: - 2.6GHz with Hyper-Threading. - Nvidia 5900xt 128 Mb (overclocked) - 512 Mb RaM. The benchmark: demo1 High Quality AA off AF 8x vsync on all the other effects on (reflection, bump, shadows...) res 800x600 51.2 fps (second run) -mario

    objects cast strange shadows

this is my conf: - 2.6GHz with Hyper-Threading. - Nvidia 5900xt 128 Mb (overclocked) - 512 Mb RaM. the screenshots: http://rigetto.20m.com/extra/extra.htm done I tried the video card with normal clock frequency but it's the same.. maybe It has something to do with these variables: r_useOptimizedShadows r_useShadowCulling r_useTwoSidedStencil r_useTurboShadow r_useShadowVertexProgram r_useShadowProjectedCull thanks for your help -mario

    objects cast strange shadows

It seems that objects cast shadows on invisible walls, not on other objects. Strange... is this normal or is problem? thanks -mario

    processor speed bottleneck

Playing doom 3 I realized that is slower in the game than in the timedemo... I think that my cpu can't handle very well the game dynamic. Does someone know if I can change settings from the console to reduce the cpu load. The video card works well. P4 2.6 Ghz with Hyper-Threading thanks -mario

    timedemo and playability difference

I knew that, but I was looking for some cvars that reduce the processor use. During the game sometimes fps fall down to 25 in large areas with flashlight on or when there are lot of monsters. Usually fps are between 50 and 35. I'm trying to find a way to limit the framerate drop. -mario

    timedemo and playability difference

hi, I experienced a difference form my timedemo result, 51.2 fps, and the game playability. The timedemo seems better. After several timedemo I thought that was the cpu that was making the game slower processing vertex, sound and dynamic effects. I tried to change graphical effects but the improvements are minimal... which cvars can I change to lighten cpu? Is there a way to make in game framerate more stable? this is my conf: - 2.6GHz with Hyper-Threading. - Nvidia 5900xt 128 Mb (overclocked) - 512 Mb RaM. thanks -mario

    is my framerate ok?

I Did some tweaking with the cfg and my video card is heavily overclocked... in game I realized frame rate is between 35-65, but, really few times, drops to 28-30. I'll give you a link where I found a good guide to tweak the game, maybe you already know it... http://www.tweakguides.com/Doom3_1.html -mario

    is my framerate ok?

HI, the first things I did when I bought Doom3 were Benchmarks... do you think that 51.2 fps as result of the second run of 'timedemo demo1.demo' is a decent framerate to play the whole game? this is my conf: - 2.6GHz with Hyper-Threading. - Nvidia 5900xt 128 Mb (overclocked) - 512 Mb RaM. Doom3: High Quality AA off AF 8x vsync on all the other effects on (reflection, bump, shadows...) res 800x600 51.2 fps (second run) thank you! -mario
