Fantastic, using GZDoom has fixed all problems I have been having. The music sound great using FMOD mode with my current set up. Thanks all for the great help.

After a reinstall of my OS, my Midi playback sounds horrible. My Midi playback device is set to the generic MS wave synth setting. Before the reinstall I was able to have the MIDI playback actually sound somewhat like real music. By changing the playback device. I had to install some software synth software to make this work, but I am not sure what it was. Anyone aware of what kinda of software I can install for a Realtech AC'97 soundcard to make the midi sound less crappy? Thanks!

This is just a basic old AC97 Onboard chip. I tried a different Port (Zdoomgl)and the audio has improved on all fronts. the sound effects are better and the Midi sound pretty nice. Having played the same level in both ports it sounds like somthing is wrong with Doomsday.( or just my sound card in general)

I am using Doomsday 2.09 and by crappy I mean it sounds like 8 bit nintendo music, opposed to instrumental sounding music. (I hear a beep, instead of a piano) I have installed the latest version of the realtek Ac97 driver as well. I will have to look in the garage and see if I have an old Sound Blaster 16 card to try. Either I am going crazy or I forgot about about swapping hardware at some point, because it has been almost 2 years since I reinstalled my OS last. Thanks for the replies.

I was wondering if there was a front end like 'Unleashed' that has an interface for keeping track of p-wads. I think it would be pretty nifty to have a front end that had an I-Tunes style rating system so you could keep track of the p-wads you played.

I just thought it would come in handy if you downloaded 3 or 4 maps, at a time it would be easy to keep them in order if you went a few weeks\months without playing and wanted to play some of your favorites again. But the more I think about it, I end up deleting the maps I don't like after the fact anyway. But to have it a community rating so you don't have to head back to the page you downloaded it to rate would be nice. Maybe even post a comment from the frontend.

That would be awesome, just think if it could be done in game so you could download a new map while you were playing another? That would certainly save a lot of time.

I am looking for an old map pack and wonder if I can get some help. It was for Doom 1 and was released in the late 90's. The music was replaced with mostly Metallica MIDI's and at least one of the monster death sounds had a Voice Over of "Die Basterd". It was a blast to play (from what I remember) and I would like to give it another go. I am 99% sure the title was 'Rot in Hell' but I can not seem to find it. Any help would be much appreciated! Yippie! The big four disk box set is out! I just picked it up today! It has the long version, Theatre Version and European Version(edited by Dario Argento) I just finished watching the Long version and its so cool! I still think the Theatre version is better, but the extra footage was fun. Zombies just kick ass! Go buy this now! Maybe (doubtfull) George Will get enough kickback to make Dead Reckoning(or what ever its called now) the movie he wants it to be with out any restrictions. (can dream...)

WOW!! I STILL have not finished marrowind! I got bored questing so i took everything i could from the first few towns and a made a tower of just things, mostly jugs and bottles. Its so tall you cant see the top of it. If you fly to the top of my tower and you potion wares off, you take leathal damage. maybe i should post a pic of it... anyway I heard Bethesada soft was make a Cthullu(LOVECRAFT OWNS!!) game and Fallout 3?

Day is my fav too actually, And yeah the extra footage does drag it on a bit, the only extra stuff that should have been left was when the main characters were being hassled by the cops before they first took off in the chopper. The argento version is really weird!They cut out some really good stuff, but off course left the one booby part! I think i could only watch it drunk, the music is way bad too! I was just skipping around but it was more 'porn' music then anything!

This movie is the Shit!!!! I live in Idaho and well... this movie tells it like it is!!! Every person I know Either had one of those weird ass rope-owl wall hangings, was really poor and had to shop at Kings(the store were he tried to the markers) or had a family member sell tupperware. I can beat Doom on ultra Violent, and i kinda suck at videogames There is a reason you can save the game!!! If my mom can beat All the castlevania's for GBA, then a causual gamer can beat Doom on 'I am to young to die' with out cheats. The last level of Doom 2 sucks ass. But it can be done. Now if you ment on NIGHTMARE setting thats another story! thats really hard...

My wife had a dream 'bout exploding ducks once. . . . . . Sorry I had a dream that I went to Hell like five or six years ago. I was living by myself, dirt freakin poor in this shitty appartment and I dreampt that i was at my Mom and Dads house.I was starting out the bay window and saw all these black swirly clouds on a red sky. I when out the back door and fell(house is two story in real life) and landed in what would only be HELL! Yellow scary rocks and red everything else. I got chased by monsters. the end. I dont remember what they looked like, but it HAS to be inspired by doom! I had not played for a long time before that though.

Cyberdemon Still makes me panic on a well made map. The Spider makes me switch to my biggest gun I have. That big "i just saw the doomguy and i am gunna kick his skinny little ass with my rocket launching paw!" Scream is a lot scarier then the Spiders "hi! my name is Bingo, i like to shoot my chaingun can i have a banana?" spurt is lame.

So Diakatana was his last full on project? Anatroxerixs or what ever was ok(not a big RPG fan but getting to photograph stuff rocked!) I wonder if he has something in the works because of how cool Doom 3 is? I mean You can't drive super sports cars and not have a job forever right? Or is he just living in his parents garage playing doom...? :P

Make sure in Kickstart you dont have anything clicked like 'Disable high res textures' And when you are playing go to the control panel and go to Graphics, and make sure they are enabled. Worst case problem you have to use the commandline '-texdir' followed by the folder location were the textures are. this messes up the particles sometimes... Also are ya using Doomsday 1.81? thats what i use and its works well.

SO what has he made 'other then that diakatana' after he joined Ion storm? Was he part of the team for 'Deus Ex'? Cuase that was pretty cool. And what about 'Dominion:Storm over gift 3'? I never played that.
