Help me to understand this story about a high school football team scoring 106 - 0

I feel there's an opportunity for a spoof film out there akin to "Remember The Titans" that could really run with this name. -

Simply sportsmanship, like in the title of the article. In combat sports, you don't just throw a heavyweight at a flyweight just to see someone get destroyed as much as possible. Especially in children's sports, it's important to teach humility towards your opponent. Even in Grappler Baki, which well into my 30s is the manliest thing I've ever seen/read, this point is driven home constantly. But this goes both ways... a team suffering from a staggering loss should know when to forfeit. This is a rule in professional baseball. Is it not possible in Football? If not, fine, they should amend that rule. And yeah, Americans obsession with Football starting at the high school level is cringe. -
What does Doomworld think of Godot Engine?

My interest is piquing. -
Proper volumetric liquid / blood physics. I won't be satisfied until I can see realistically simulated entrance/exit wounds that will drain blood for hours across any surface.

Ralphis hacking the website was peak Doomworld for me. Been chasing that dragon ever since. -
What could this new monster be bros? A new Baron of Hell, or maybe the Nightmare Imp from Doom 64?? Also there's no way that flying robot head is the Lost Soul. I'll quit gaming if they ditch the skull design for the most iconic monster in the franchise.

How Doom III was intended to be played.
-
It did. The title is styled Doom³ (pronounced Doom Cubed, as in 3D) and ditches the Roman Numeral system used for Doom II: Hell on Earth.
-
I at least unlocked everything so that I could blast through on New Game+ during future replays.

Hitler messing with the occult was a big meme for a long time. Doom started as an Aliens game, then they fell back into demons once the movie deal fell through.

Just Found This Gigantic Hot Take From TV Tropes
Coopersville replied to DSC's topic in Doom General
I love MAP08. Solving as much of the level as possible before the Invulnerability Artifact wears off is fun as hell. All of the Doom 2 maps are kino until the lul in the city episode. Don't necessarily agree that Sandy is a god at level design, but he definitely had his moments, and his YouTube channel is bussin. -
99% of the time horde modes feels lazy and tacked-on, but having one in Doom Eternal feels right to me. I'd much rather the demon killing and Mick Gordon'ing never end.
-
Doomguy died at the end of E1 to get into Hell. I also subscribe to the Doom Eternal "Every Doom timeline and wad is canon" lore.

To defeat the Cyberdemon, shoot at it until it dies.

Was Wallace Breen Really The Villian Of HL2?
Coopersville replied to The BMFG's topic in Everything Else
Bad boy. If Gordon and the rebels were capable of overthrowing the Combine at the height of their power, they would have still been able to do so, even after a more catastrophic war. The people who survived as slaves are negatable, as the other survivors would have been able to regroup and potentially continue to reproduce without Breen's meddling. What decisions he might have made with foreknowledge of Freeman's return are interesting to ponder, but his actions are quite damning. -
Old-School Runescape Some Korean game that started with "Hel" that got memoryholed and I can never find. I think it ripped some sprites from Diablo 2. Star Wars: The Old Republic Destiny 1 & 2 Planetside 2 Dust 514 I grew out of MMORPG's pretty fast. Everything just feels like an imitation of Runescape. As far as general MMO's go, DayZ Mod, and Minecraft's 2b2t server will probably be the genre's peak for years to come. Edit: Elite Dangerous is pretty damn good too.

Vivisector: Beast Within is a game I always like to mention in threads like this. I was very pleased when Civvie did a video on it. Paranoia 2: Savior gets a fair amount of hits on my YouTube channel, because I was the only person who had a full playthrough of it at the time. I think it was my first big introduction into "Slavjank" and I have nothing but fond memories. Catacombs 3D reboot when?

Obscure and low-budget movies thread (and maybe lesser known Hollywood movies from the major studios and possibly direct to video & TV movies)

Uh... here's a 2005 horror film that my friends made at the tail end of high school: -
Metal Heads of DoomWorld, what was your introduction to metal?
Coopersville replied to TenenteZashu's topic in Everything Else
My parents and uncles always had stuff like AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, and Black Sabbath playing in the background since I was a baby; I was born in it, molded by it. I remember some older kid showing me Green Jellö when I was like six, and thinking it was pretty funny how a band was making metal songs about toys, cereal, and childrens fables that I liked. I wasn't very interested in music before I was a teenager though, and didn't get back into metal until Napster came out. Linkin Park's "Hybrid Theory" was the first CD that I owned, followed by Korn's "Life is Peachy". I discovered my favourite band, Iced Earth, through an AMV I found on some fansite back in like 2001. -
"Dial 'Z' for Zombies" scared the shit out of me when I was five, and has always stuck with me. "Nightmare Cafeteria" is right up there as well.
-
Mario Kart 64 always felt like it was the fastest to me, and I still play it fairly regularly. I've taken a shining to Mario Kart 8, and probably consider it my second favourite. Big gold star to Mario Kart Arcade GP DX.

I Am Very Sad That I Never Lived To See Old Bananas
Coopersville replied to act's topic in Everything Else
Inject candy banana flavour shots into your Cavendish fruit perhaps? -
Ironically the video games are the most boring part of the video. They're only like 4-5 minutes per segment, and I won't feel bad if you skip through them. Despite being a YouTuber for fifteen years, I have very little content where I show my face or provide much of my own commentary. I'm now putting myself out there, practically starting from scratch, so expect to see some bumps along the way. I have like three or four videos partially scripted and ready to film; I just don't know when I'm going to do it. Alriiight... Now come catch the cringe virus with me!

I think I'll carve out some of the Doomworld fish avatars this year if someone makes me decorate their pumpkins.
