    Uninstalling mods

To uninstall mods, do you just delete their folder in your Doom3 folder? Or do you have to do more?

    Video card help

Are Chaintech and Gigabyte good manufactures of video cards? There is only a $2 difference in price between the two, and the gigabyte has more software included, but I still would like to know if one is better then the other?

    Video card help

Well Bloodshedder if you had read my original post in this thread, you would have seen that $180USD was what I was prepared to spend. Possibly a bit more if the card warrents it, but I would prefer to spend a bit less if possible. It was not the FireGL card my friend had, it was the card ATI had out when Everquest first came out, the card made his computer crash everytime he tried to play it due to bad drivers I guess. Does the 9800 Pro have eqivillent shaders as the 5900XT?, because the whole point of getting a new card is so I can play Doom3 and similar games with the options turned up better then what I currantly have using my ancient GeForce3 TI 200 64MB card. I've seen the 5900XT with 256MB of memory, I think, but the price is much higher then what I can afford. Unless of course I find it somewhere for a decent price. You would think that they would lower the prices on the FX series now that they have the 6800's out.

    Video card help

So the FX 5900XT would be the best bet?, what is different between the XT version and the regular FX 5900? No comment was made on the amount of video memory, does that mean it is incidental to the card's performance?, or is the 5900 just that better? As to ATI cards, I've never owned one but had a friend that had a bad experience with one with "fire" in it's model name. I've also heard that they are slow in releasing new drivers and that some of the drivers have problems. I don't know about Doom3, but UT is optimizied for Nvidia, otherwise they would not advertise it in the game itself. Besides, I am not sure if I could get a comparable ATI card for what I can afford to spend. I will look into it, but in the mean time what ATI card is comparable to the 5900XT?

    Video card help

I recently had a birthday and intend to use money received to get a new video card, but need some advice as to which to get. My budget is limited so the following is what I am considering. FX5900XT 128MB FX5700 Ultra 128MB (EVGA Version as it uses DDR3 memory) FX5700LE 256MB FX5700 256MB FX5600 256MB Of these cards which do you think would do the best job in Doom3 and games of a similar nature? Which is faster?, and how important is the extra video memory in regards to the various cards? I cannot afford anything better then these as my ceiling for getting a card cannot exceed $180USD, and preferably it should be a fair amount less. I am just trying to get the best I can with the money I have, and upgrade from my GeForce3 Ti200 64MB card as I want to see some of the effects programmable shaders provide. P4 2.4Ghz (533MHz) 640MB DDR ram 240GB HD over three drives latest drivers for vid card (in case you wondered on my specs. Yeah I know it is not the latest or greatest, but it is what I can currently afford)

    Storage room c4?

Possibly, but that is the closest I've come to finding the bloke. Just because his transmission said he was nearby does not necessarily mean that it could not be him. The only other storage rooms that I can think of are the ones in the CPU room(don't recall the exact room, but it's one of the ones you access using the walkway over the pit.

Do Monsters in Doom 3 Fight each other??

Is there any way for you to lighten the second pic? I cannot really see anything as the pic is to dark. You might try typeing, "r_gamma 1.3" in the console. That will lighten the pic up a bit and sharpen the res a bit to. Found the tip in the latest MaximumPC magazine.

    Storage room c4?

Are you sure about that dsm? I found the dude, or at least the guy I thought was him, in Maintance Room C4. It is just past the room where various monsters like Imps, Hellknight etc. are in stasis pods. And you can download info on the monsters to your PDA by clicking the screen in front of the monster in question. The dude got wasted by an Imp before I actually found him, but then again I was looking around and not exactly hurrying to find him.

    Storage room c4?

Early in the game after climbing a ladder up to the next level someone broadcasts a message over the radio. They say they are locked in Storage room/cabinet C4, is there such a place? If so, where is it? I spent the longest time trying to find it so I could release the dude stuck, and even thought I was close when I heard banging near the room where the glowing blue cells were being loaded.(had a hatch that you opened via a console nearby)

    DM Maps for Doom3

Naitgoulf: Not completely true, in UT2003 & UT2004 after you beat the single player game you can play all the Instant Action matches you like in Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Onslaught etc. So a practice option where you fight bots of demons or what have you would have been nice. As to modding, it would be nice to do stuff like that, but I neither have the know how or the desire to do that. Besides it's limited to online use, and I rarely have the time to mess about with online play, that and it would have to be free as I cannot afford multiplayer fees. Amaster: You make valid points, there is still value replaying if I increase the difficulty level and whatnot. Also there is plenty of places in the game that I did not get to, so that helps. I have no talent for modding, nor the time to be honest. That's why I like UT's Instant action games, I don't have to look around for a game, I can just play one when I have the time. As to smilies, I was just asking as there is a pop-up box with various smilies on one of the boards pages(don't recall if it's the reply form or in member options.) I am new to DoomWorld so did not know that they were always disabled. Re: Doom 1&2 as well as the early iterations of Quake, will they play okay on a P4 box? UT1999 the original Unreal Tournament has crappy FPS on my system even though UT2003, UT2004, Painkiller, and Doom3 all play just fine on it. I don't have that great a system, but it is sufficient to enjoy most games, and I upgrade it when time and money allow. P4 2.4Ghz (533Mhz fsb) 640MB DDR RAM 240GB Hard Drives(over three drives) GeForce3 Ti 200 64MB (latest forceware drivers and Artic Cooler heatsink) DVD & CD burners

    DM Maps for Doom3

So once you finish the Single Player mode, that's it? Nothing more to play? That's pretty shitty if you ask me, I expected more from a FPS game of this caliber. Or am I jumping to conclusions?, and there is more?(other then online play I mean) :???: By the way, how do you activate smilies?

    DM Maps for Doom3

This is probably the wrong place to post this question, but I was unsure where the correct place is. Is deathmatch and the other game types for Doom3 only available for online play?, or is there someway to play offline against bots like in UT2004?
