My goddamn computer decided to fuck up significantly recently. I've always been fine with it, and it's had enough damage done to it that I'm not surprised it has something wrong now, but shit. Last week my computer was running slow. OK, fine. This week I ran a program to play poker online (Full Tilt) and it fucked up. Windows couldn;t shut it down so I turned of the laptop with the power button. Figures that next time I turn it on Windows can't boot up. Windows repair ran three consecutive times and couldn't solve the issue. Ran the diagnositc tests and found the hard drive wasn't being read properly. Ended up letting Windows Startup Repair run again and it scanned the bad sectors. Apparently a certain "hazyevr.sys", a system startup file, is the main corrupted culprit. Not sure if it's the real reason behind all this, but it seems no one else on the internet has heard of this fucking system file and I can't seem to repair it. I have yet ti run SFC but I don't have high hopes. Notes are that my laptop still runs in safe mode and at leats its working. I just don't wanna lose all my files and I would hope I don't have to resort to reinstalling my OS.

    Just sayin' :/

Off-topic: Is this some kinda clever marketing gimmick to make people who write about it sound like they are excited and ecstatic about it?

When I was reading your post I actually had to read at least halfway into it to realize you were still speaking in an informative context and not a "YAY FOR LINUX" context.

Yeah, I contemplated just typing it normally, but for some reason just decided to use the exclamation point as it was. It probably is more or less a marketing gimmick, the same way Avast! has one as well.

      Pervert! :P

      Shhhh, don't tell anyone ;)

Seems a lot like this: a malware specialized in targeting online poker.

Now unless they use some clever drive-by download, I can't even conceive how someone would voluntarily install something on his PC to play something as simple as ONLINE POKER, FFS, in this era of facebook and AJAX applications.

Let me guess...you need Windows to play it, right?

If they had no hidden agenda, they wouldn't be distributing it in such a bullshit way. Steer clear.
