    REKKR - V1.16

That seems to have fixed it! The warnings are gone and the game runs fine using MBF, thanks!

    REKKR - V1.16

During startup, the vanilla exe (ultimate doom) also warns about these, but it continues loading anyway. (not sure if anything could go wrong in game?) I can't use MBF though, because it quits when it finds these patches are missing. I would like to use MBF if possible, so if you can find the time to fix them, that would be great.

    REKKR - V1.16

I discovered what I was doing wrong. I was trying to patch the regular Doom v1.9 exe (instead of Ultimate Doom) that's why it produced these errors.

    REKKR - V1.16

Hi @Revae, did you already release the fix for the "R_GenerateLookup: Column without a patch in texture" issue? I couldn't find a new version, so I guess not. :) Is soon(tm) anywhere in the coming months, by any chance? That would be awesome. (I have another computer running DOS that I'd like to install REKKR on.) Another thing I could use some help with: I tried loading the rekkr.deh in the original dehacked 3.1 (also tried 3.0aSE) but I´m getting a bunch of errors like "Line 3965: Unmatchable text string". 11 errors in total. Shouldn't the deh file be compatible with the original dehacked? Edit 2: I only just learned that the Doom v1.9 shareware exe is identical to the registered one, and even the Doom II v1.9 one. That's interesting. I also discovered that Dehacked did continue loading the file, even with those errors. I just wanted to be sure I'm not missing anything crucial.

    DOOM 4 VANILLA v3.2

Hi! I'm running D4V on MBF 2.04 (maintenance release) using freedoom2.wad. It seems to be running, but I think there could still be an issue with the dehacked files not being skipped/loaded properly. I hope someone here can help, so I won't run into trouble later. I found that MBF doesn't have a -nodeh command line parameter, but it does load dehacked lumps automatically. There is a similar parameter -nodehwad, but afaik, that skips loading of all dehacked lumps, while -nodeh (when available) seems to skip dehacked lumps in IWADs only. Which dehacked lumps should be skipped by -nodeh? (I think the freedoom wads also have dehacked lumps, so you'd probably want to skip those) Which dehacked lumps should be loaded? For example, for episode 1, do any of btsx_e1a.wad btsx_e1b.wad D4V2.wad BTSX1D4V.wad have lumps that should be loaded? The "HOW TO PLAY ON OTHER PORTS" file only lists D4V2.deh, but would I need btsx1.deh as well when using -nodehwad on MBF 2.04?

    REKKR - V1.16

I just tried running Doom 4 Vanilla v3.2.1 BTSX edition on MBF 2.04. This mod was made to run with DOOM2.WAD, uses a dehacked file and should also run with the original Doom 2 exe. I successfully ran it on MBF using the freedoom2.wad. I haven't actually played more than a couple of minutes using a couple of weapons and encountering some monsters, but all seems to be working. I'll try running REKKR with vanilla doom later, but I was actually looking for a way to run it without requiring the original game. Besides playing it for myself (it looks awesome) I intend to put it on some retro gaming PCs that I'm building and intend to sell. I also put a selection of freeware and shareware games on them. Note that I'm not doing this for profit, just for fun. I just added a bit to your tip jar as well. :-) As long as I don't lose too much money in the process, it's good entertainment. :-D

    REKKR - V1.16

I tried to get REKKR to work on MBF Doom 2.04 (maintenance release), in DOSBox, but planning to run it on a real dos machine later. I didn't succeed however. The IWAD version gives me the error "IWAD tag not present: rekkrsa.wad". I tried using the PWAD version in combination with freedoom1.wad (from freedoom-0.12.1), but that gives me the following errors: R_GenerateLookup: Column without a patch in texture BLODGR1 R_GenerateLookup: Column without a patch in texture BLODGR4 R_GenerateLookup: Column without a patch in texture FIRELAV2 R_GenerateLookup: Column without a patch in texture FIRELAV3 R_GenerateLookup: Column without a patch in texture FIRELAVA I also tried BOOM 2.02, but it had the same issue. Is this an issue with the REKKR wads, or is there anything else I should try? If possible I'd like to get one of these two options to work.

Best source port for old 486DX2

Oke. Thanks for your replies. I shall look into Boom, MBF, SMMU for Doom/Doom II.
  9. I have a 486DX2 (67Mhz) that I'm turning into an old-games computer. I have Doom/Doom II/Heretic and Hexen and I would very much like to put them on that computer. Which sourceport(s) would be the best choice? I don't care much for new level-designer features or even multiplay, since the computer is not connected to a network. I'm looking for speed, standard features (running the original games with sound, no graphical bugs etc, higher resolution/detail if the computer can handle it ;-)) and also compatibility (run several games with one source port if possible) Who can advise me? Thanks!
