Someone's getting fired.

Couple times a week, usually at night long after work. If I have free time, I might work on one of my mods during the day and playtest.

Brutal Doom-style mods, no. Gameplay mods, yes. Very yes. Preferably mods with expanded bestiaries or smoothed animation.

Do Master Levels for Doom II count? If so, then TEETH2.

I don't feel nostalgic when I play Doom at all. Not even a little bit. It's my method of blowing off steam, and it made me want to go to college to learn how to write code. It got me involved in music and sound design. Doom is a creative outlet for me - a canvas. I don't reminisce about how it was growing up playing it, I dream about what I'm going to do with it next. It's not just my past, it's also my present, and possibly my future.

First time at the range, with an AR-15. Photo's a couple weeks old. Still, lot of fun.

Loved Scourge of Armagon for its theming and new weapons. Dissolution of Eternity, not as much, but still enjoyable. Bonus points for the Egyptian motif in the latter expansion, as I've got a weakness to that kind of thing.

Better, no. Comparable, yes. Depends on the context on where it's used.

Pain Elementals. If I'm not paying enough attention, getting swarmed by a million Lost Souls really blows. At least Archviles I can deal with more easily.

Literally a SPAS-12. But that doesn't make that thing any less OP. I'm a firm believer that if you don't have that thing in your inventory at all times, you're playing the game wrong.

I've answered this one before, but redundantly for the sake of redundancy, I was 10, and started playing in 1995. First game I touched was Doom II, came preinstalled on a secondhand PC. The rest is history, I guess.

I don't really back it up, but I do work on it in several different media. Most active projects, I keep on a USB stick, along with source code. Full releases, I keep on the HDD, once I've released a build, and I just continue working on it like that. As long as I've got the source code and an earlier release build, it doesn't bother me so much if a hard drive goes out. And before someone suggests my USB sticks go out, I rotate those out every year. You should see my shelving unit, there's USBs all over the place. I really oughta clean up in here.

I wouldn't change the difficulties themselves. I'd just add UV-Fast as an intermediate difficulty between UV and Nightmare.

Classic Doom 4 Eternal. Sprite weapons mimicking the original weapons' behavior. Why? To that I ask, "Why not?"

Never. I consider myself reasonably competent at the game, so I mostly play on UV. Occasionally I'll play on HMP if a map is particularly difficult (see: slaughter maps), and even more rarely will I bump it down to HNTR. But I haven't made it all the way to ITYTD yet.

Mancubus just wants to go back home to finish his Let's Play of Sigil. That, and he wishes H-Doom was real.

I'm sad to see Mick go, but I respect his decision, and hope he does well wherever he lands.

I thought this might be an interesting topic, given Doom's nature. Anyone here actually own a firearm of some kind? Or are your firearms only made of pixels? I, myself, own a Smith & Wesson M&P40. Just picked it up, actually. I quite like it.

Seconded. I do kinda wish there was a community project set on doing this or something. I think it'd be interesting to see.

I only think of it as cheating if you're sequence breaking with it. But in forced damage scenarios (slime rivers without radsuits, Barons in tight corridors with no room to dodge projectiles), I don't think so.

I'm with you, there. Though admittedly, I got mine for personal defense. I'm eager for the ranges to open up again, so I can take some training rounds down there and get a feel for it. I hope I never actually have to use it, but I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
