    Toughest Doom level?

Of the iwads?.. hmm shit. Other than a few levels in Plutonia, I never had any real difficulty beating them. But I suppose i'll have to agree with the others that Go 2 It is the hardest of the bunch. Personally I prefer pwads over the iwads levels.. not that the iwad levels are bad.. just.. overplayed.. I burned them out. Uninstall. Play solitaire.

    32in24: DUEL CORE

Cool stuff. Edit: Well something looks fucked up. Shouldn't the exit on map15 take you to map 31?...

    More of my doom crap.

I always loved under halls, and your remake of it is pretty cool. Not an oblige fan though. Cool stuff dutch devil.

Possible to record demos in zdoom?

Yeah, it's nice.. but it's really annoying how every update breaks the compatibility.
  8. I'd recken less work went into mock2 than dre, and atleast that was funny. "Hmm... too much detail." haha I loved that.

Possible to record demos in zdoom?

You must use a command line. Here is an example: zdoom.exe -file thewadyouwanttoplaywith.wad -record nameyouwantofthedemo.lmp Just remember, this demo you make will work with, and only with, the same version of zdoom.

Possible to record demos in zdoom?

Using the mouse wheel to scroll is pointless anyway. Your demo would be sorta boring to watch if we had to wait like 5 seconds every time you wanted to use a particular gun.
  11. I find that the biggest reason I hate it is because: A, it's a big download, you expected better considering. B, it was overhyped. C, required to use an obsolete version of ZDoom, just to cover the author's lazy ass. In all honesty, if nobody had heard of dre, and it wasn't jam packed with completely out of place mp3s, it would be considered a boring mediocre at best wad, not some ravaged piece of shit that clings to our community like that girl you banged 2 months ago who won't get the picture and GTFO. And on another note, NOBODY wants to hear alien ant farm in midi, hell, nobody wants to hear of that shitty band period. A shitty band covering a shitty song just makes it all the more shitty.
  12. And thats all just a bunch of MP3s, too. DV2 is expected to be well over 100 megs, but at least theres content in that. Unless your bandwidth usage is metered (or on dial up), I see no point in really being so anal about the size of files. If rampage wasn't such an idiot, he would have uploaded DRE to a torrent. Nobody has to piss and moan about bandwidth usage, everybody gets it, and the idgames archive wouldn't have wasted it's time telling rampage to go to hell.

    PrBoom+ Network play (LAN)

I tried 2.4.8.2, it was the same. I found, that running the server on one machine, then using two others in order to play, provided the best setup. However, after exiting the level, one of the computers (the first to connect) started experiencing lag again (though it was quite minor in comparison.. yet still noticeable.) It's always the first one to connect that develops the control delay. Going to new game and restarting it fixed it at the cost of all weapons. This issue wouldn't be too bad for dm though.

    PrBoom+ Network play (LAN)

Ok, so I was playing a LAN game of PrBoom+, I figured out how to run the server and connect to it and all that. I got two computers up and going on it. One of them was running the server along-side the client. It connected to it via 127.0.0.1. At first, it ran perfectly. Just plain great. Fast forward 5 minutes later, the computer running both a client and the server is lagging like hell. It was as if I had 150 ping to it or something.. but the other computer still played perfectly smoothly. The kind of lag I am referring to is control delay, not spikes or anything. Pressing a key would only yield a result a good 3/4 a second later. Pretty strange if you ask me. Any thoughts on that?

    PrBoom+ Network play (LAN)

The issue persists on the latest version. Note: The control delay starts after switching a level, not 5 mins. If you go to the menu and hit new game, the level will restart, and the lag will disappear.

PrBoom-Plus 2.4.6.1 I just noticed a new version is out, I'm gonna give that a shot.

    New source port

Personally I wish ZDoom used SDL, rather than DirectX in windows and who knows what else for linux.

    NES Doom!

Doom on NES.... cool?... uh... why the hell for? Well, whatever. For NES, that is impressive indeed.

    Steam DOSBox Stuff

Lol, I still have Wolf3D and the original Doom2.exe 1.9......... and an old machine running Windows 98se that plays it all perfectly. At the very least they could have whipped up something similar to chocolate doom... from what I can tell that engine literally aims to be Doom2.exe for windows.

    PRBoom(+) sound compatability

A wad I am currently working on uses alternative sound effects for the cyberdemon. They Sound great in zDoom, but in PRBoom they are absolutely terrible. This wad needs to be completely boom compatible, but getting rid of the sounds is not the solution I'm looking for. Heres a zip that has both a wad with a level made to show the sounds, and the actual sound files. http://prboom-plus.sourceforge.net/sounds.zip

    PRBoom(+) sound compatability

Yeah, being 16 bit is what caused it to be so screwed up. Well, I'm glad that was an easy fix. So at this point, everything is 100% compatible with PRBoom+, woot.

    PRBoom(+) sound compatability

Sweet, it works. Thanks entryway, now demo recording deus vult2 on prboom wont require me tolerating that screwed up cyberdemon sound. Cheers.

    PRBoom(+) sound compatability

Any suggestions on a sound editor to use? I tried using sound recorder to re save them, no difference. Yeah my IP changes way too much. I've had to edit those posts several times to make sure they were accurate. My bad, I meant PRBoom+. The wad i'm working with has so many sidedefs and linedefs in at least one of the levels that it can't run on anything other than prboom+ and zDoom.

Ehhuuahhhg, fuck that! hmm.. where do you recommend? I don't know of any 'good' places, so you can download it off of my http server for now. http://71.219.21.155:7777/sounds.zip
