Playstation Network Placed in Glad Bag, Tossed Off Pier with Concrete Block
caco_killer replied to Csonicgo's topic in Everything Else
You're not getting the exact same service on the PSN. The developers still have to spend money on servers for the matchmaking, as Sony does not provide them. And as this incident has proved, Sony didn't bother to have any real security for it, either. -
Hi all, I'm ordering KFC for all of you. What would you like?
caco_killer replied to Marnetmar's topic in Everything Else
I hate how restaurants are doing that. I ate lunch at KFC yesterday, and I could not believe how small the portions were. The chicken breast fit in the palm of my hand! I pretty much won't buy anything from Fast Food restaurants anymore unless its from the $1 menu. -
I have to ask, why in the world are you using such a terrible graphics card in the first place?

Regenerating health only makes a game easy on the easiest difficulty, otherwise the character is too fragile for it to truly help. A good example is Halo Reach on Legendary. There are several enemies who can kill you in one hit, and everything else will take you down in mere seconds. Could you imagine playing COD4 on Veteran with health packs? It would be extremely tedious because you would need to fully heal yourself every time someone shot you.

New 360/PS3 Resident Evil game announced
caco_killer replied to UnendingRequiem's topic in Everything Else
Have you actually played those two games, because they are nothing a like. -
I love NoScript, I can browse any website without fear of spyware or viruses wrecking my computer.

Games with unreasonably high system requirements
caco_killer replied to wildweasel's topic in Everything Else
Dragon Age has very reasonable requirements, even for Max settings. -
All corporations lie to get more money off of people.

I googled that "Wikipedia Whitewashing" thing. Yeah, you're right, nobody gives a shit. I don't really care, either, I was just posting what I thought they would do. Sometimes I forget how corporations act.

EA owns Bioware, so I don't think they'll have trouble finding a publisher. They'll probably just fire the stupid asses responsible for this stunt and move on.

What good Duke 3D mods do you know of?
caco_killer replied to fatal error's topic in Everything Else
Here's a good place to find a ton of Duke mods: http://msdn.duke4.net/index.shtml Some of the links are via fileplanet, but you no longer have to login to download them. There's no waiting, either. -
No, no, it's about this mouse. It's got lots of buttons, and weights.

Some modern games have draconian DRM schemes, but a lot of them do not. A few games with bad DRM do not represent all games released.

A 500 MB patch is not very common on Steam, unless it is a TF2 patch that adds new maps. Why are you worried about people who have lousy internet connections? Steam is clearly not designed for them. If you can run it properly, you should just enjoy it instead of worrying about other people or the future.
-
If it is malware, then how come none of the spyware or virus scanners recognize it as such? My computer is running just fine with it on, and I can shut it down with ease when I need to. If you are going to dislike something, you should have real reasons instead of lies and jaded opinions.

The demo has had problems on the consoles as well (such as shitty matchmaking on the 360). This is clearly a hastily put together demo.

Exactly, every generation of technology has a ton shit and a few awesome things. This is nothing new.

It sounds like you haven't played past the first level. You would be wishing you'd see the "umbrella guys" more often.

Neverwinter Nights 2 was made by Obsidian.

Like anything in technology, it's the cost of being an early adopter.

That's just the first game, and like one level in the third one. Two out of three good games is not bad, right?

4 GB is more then enough for video editing, especially when editing FRAPS video. As for the GTX 460, that is a solid upgrade from your old card. Newegg has some models of it for as low as $155. That is a mid-range card as well.
-
You can't have max settings for the newest games and record it without turning the settings down. FRAPS is just too demanding for such a thing. As for your hardware, you need a new graphics card. A 9600 GT hasn't been good for years. Could you say what processor you have? That would help me tell you what you can upgrade it to. You have more then enough memory.

Sorry about that, I forgot they do that now. That sucks, because that guy compiled a shitload of info on the game. This is where the info is from.

caco_killer replied to Sergeant_Mark_IV's topic in WAD Releases & Development
This is pretty cool. I love the Taunt feature.
