  10. I mean alot of games that come out nowadays like 98% of the editing communities for such games ONLY focus on Multiplayer editing. Battlefield is classic for this. The Doom 3 community is great though. I mean i'm seeing massive amounts of Single Player mods, maps, and even bots being released all the time. I mean i think it's great how the Doom 3 community is fully supporting the Single player aspects of Doom 3 and not JUST the multiplayer. There still is MP editing, which is fine, but there's more of a balance than other games. I mean i know this is a pretty stupid thing to mention, but i felt that from a dial-up user, and a Single Player only type of person, we really do appreciate all the SP work modders are giving to Doom 3. Anyone feel the same way about this?

    Any Doom64TC Custom Wads?

    Hello eveyone, i have just a quick question. Were there ever any custom wad's made for the Doom 64 TC? I heard it was a pain to edit, but i figured i'd ask anyway. It's a pretty good mod, i mean Doom64 is more Quakish but it wasn't all that bad. Wasn't classic Doom of course, but it was something different. Anyway, thanks for all your help in advance. :)

    The best MoD?

    What? It was a alright concept, but he could have added some level to it and still keep that much enemies, it was just too bland and the floor textures (especially in the Cyberdemon room) hurt my eyes. Kind of laggy too. Anyway, Doom 64 TC is a good mod, i also like those Western TC's (Boothill and Fistful of Doom), another one that'sgood is the Aliens TC. Problem with that though is i keep getting stuck on the walls and such. I don't know what's up with that, you almost have to use clipping just to play the levels. There's a ton more, i recommend you go through the 10 years of doom article on this site and the 2004 Cacoawards. You'll find tons of wad's/mod's and TC's that way.

    I disagree, i find RTCW's multiplayer the best in the buisness, sure the SP kind of sucks, but the multiplayer more than makes up for it. And Quake 3 is a great Deathmatch game, but that's about it. I mean the guns and atmosphere are fine, but CTF and all that just aren't Quake 3 i feel.

    how long does a doom level need to be?

    I personally prefer large maps, i hate wasting time downloading a 1 level WAD and find out the level takes like 5 minutes to complete because it like two rooms, it's a waste of time. But that's just me, also depends on the level too i suppose. It's like Nmn said, everyone's gonna say different things.

    For ZDoom aren't BEX patches more supported than DEH? if you went that route the command line parameter would be "-bex blahblah.bex". On a side note if you were making a batch file to run on ZDoom i'd look something like this... ----------------------------------------- @echo off zdoom -iwad Doom2.wad -deh balhblah.deh -file blahblah.wad -WARP 1 -SKILL 3 ----------------------------------------- You can also load additional wads by adding another "-file" parameter. I know you didn't ask this but i figured i'd offer, just in case.

    Okay, i'll give ZDoomGL a shot, i usually play Doomsday but my friend let me play this ZDoom mod (Action Doom i think) and i thought it was pretty wild. So i decided to get ZDoom and try it out. Thanks everybody.

    A Couple ZDoom questions

    Hello everyone i just got a couple questions for the ZDoom source port (not the GL version, but the normal one). I have version .63a of the ZDoom Port and i was wondering how can i remove that bow type view you get when using mouselook? Also is there any way to remove or turn down the darkness that appears in the distance? i can't even see the Spectre because it's so dark. I hope there's someone can help, at least with the bow type mouselook view because that's kind of annoying. Thanks in advance :)

    It kind of like bends the images whenever you look up or down. It don't keep them straight like normal. And yeah that receding darkness is what i was talking about, it's not all that bad though.

    Thanks guys, that new server is great, i was getting an average of 6.0 Kbps download speed. I know Dial-up person over here. ;)
