  1. I think it was well worth it. I waited years for a console to get a DOOM port that didn't suck AND controlled well. The PSX was close, but you can't beat two sticks (One to strafe, one to turn) for controlling FPS'. (Not counting keyboards. But that';s another story as I PREFER a controller over a keyboard AND mouse in FPS games.) Also, the PSX levels were STILL edited. The D3 ports are practically the same thing I've seen on my PC for years, including some of the bugs. Sure, the music may seem off once in a while and some sounds seem higher sometimes. Though, for some reason in Episode 2, the Tower of Babel didn't build itself from level to level like it's supposed to. Not a big deal though. As a Doom fan, I found it quite refreshing. I do not own a PC or a Mac capable of even TOUCHING the game, and even if I did, I prefer consoles. D3 was no let down at all. Halo 2 was a let down. D3 was not. I loved it and that is all. (BTW, I just beat it earlier, on Easy of course, but hell, it took forever, and I don't care if it was Easy mode.) All in all, well worth the wait for me. Things I didn't like though was the lack of many more extras. The Icons was cool, but lacked a "Play All" button. (WTF?) and the interviews were nice, but I wanted more. At least Halo 2 came with a full DVD full of extras, and that game sucked! I can't say how happy I am with the Doom 1+2 ports. I really am. The only problem I have with those is the damn "cheats" are activated by the L trigger, which I use ALL THE TIME, so I am constantly turning on the inverted white "Invulnerability" sphere. Grrr. Why not just a Cheat Menu? BTW, anyone found any cheats for the Xbox version of D3 yet?

    Doom 3. scary?

I would have rather Doom 3 kept going on and led you to Earth like the originals did. I was disappointed it only kept you on Mars. (Which you never actually were on in the originals. You were on the moons, Phobos and Deimos. I love those names.)

    Doom 3. scary?

I'll admit I've jumped quite a few times whenever something decides to come out of the closet unexpectedly. So it's as scary as I can handle. I love it.

    Doom 3. scary?

No, he said there are not going to be more. Watch "Icons Part 4" on the disc. Todd Hollenshead says "We've already decided we're not going to do a Doom 4 or a Quake 4..." They're going to go in another direction. Make a new ID for id. Reinvent themselves. Reinvent the genre maybe. We'll see. (Quake 4 is being made by Raven, but Doom 4 will never be made.)

Doom I + II (Xbox) graphical enhancements?

I'm glad they finally got DOOM on a console without changing anything. (Forget the split-screen, that's another story.) It took 12 years and almost a dozen consoles to finally get it right. Too bad they couldn't put in an option for PSX style lighting. Though, I'll take the perfectly unchanged levels over the cooler lighting.

Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil Box Art

I dunno, I'm a big fan of the cartoony Doom-esque Serious Sam (Xbox) box art.

    Doom 3. scary?

I've been playing DOOM 3 for a few hours now and DOOM in general for 12 years. I can say it is a littly scary at least the first time something unexpected happens. Especially when something tries to break through a door or spawns behind you without telling you. Also, id isn't going to make anymore Doom. They've said in an interview they're going to focus on going in other directions.

    Music to Doom to..

It can be found on the internet if you look hard enough. I can't even begin to imagine playing DOOM to that though.

    Music to Doom to..

I never could get into Quake. Superior graphics be damned, DOOM is still king in my book. (I bought both Halo's and still can't get into them as much as I love DOOM.) Serious Sam is the only thing that comes close in my book. I could play that a lot too. DOOM music still rules.

What system did you have your 1st Doom expierence?

Actually, there wasn't a CyberDemon in the 32X version as well as many of the older console ports. It seems every console port was a bit different, PSX is the best you can get without using a computer, but many of them didn't have even a SpiderDemon either.

    Favorite Ultimate Doom song?

Bunny is great. Especially when you see the open fields then the camera pans to the left to show the city on fire and a hand holding up a bunny head. There goes the neighborhood.

    Exporting Doom files to Mac?

You will be able to take the WAD file from the PC CD-ROM of DOOM and use that with Legacy or one of the other Mac OS X DOOM ports. I use all my DOOM games with Legacy. Though it's buggy so I'll probably switch to Jdoom or something.

What system did you have your 1st Doom expierence?

I have no idea what it was. It was a Gateway in 1995 I can say that much. Of course, I actually bought DOOM 2 first. It wasn't for about a few years that I got DOOM 1 (Ultimate) then later Final DOOM.

    Music to Doom to..

YES! OverClocked has some awesome remixes there. I especially like Gothic Sandy and Demonik Electronik.

    Favorite Ultimate Doom song?

In DOOM 1, I love E1M8. The boss level of the first episode. I have a remix of it I downloaded from OverClocked. I even have most of the music (If not all) in Special Edition and regular forms that I like to listen to when there's nothing good on TiVo. In DOOM 2 I always liked level 28 I believe it is. "Getting Too Tense" Not only the music but the level too. Some runners up are the two Wolfenstein secret levels and the first level from episode 1 and 2 and the first map of DOOM 2. (I had those songs imprinted in my brain from my DOOM hacking days. To this day I couldn't forget those pieces of music if I tried.)
