    Unpopular Modern Opinions

What are your unpopular modern* opinions? *Modern as in everything from 2008 to the present day. here are some of my own (subject to updates): - Duke Nukem Forever is pretty fun for what it is. - I don't mind the two missing stages and other stuff in the PC version of Dead Or Alive 5: Last Round. All i wanted was a cool true 3D fighting game. -

    Game Obsessions You Don't Understand

    - Indie devs who insist in living in the past to the point of making games with dated graphics. I'm not asking for ultra HD 4K kind of stuff. I just want something truly original, or at least something really different. - RPG games with the same old medieval fantasy theme. Why is it so difficult to make a RPG with a different theme? - Why most racing games don't have an option to use your own MP3 songs? I don't want to listen to that bland indie rock or this crappy hip-hop/trap noise. I'd rather roll the streets on a tricked-out Honda/Acura, listening to some j-pop or industrial rock. - Games that insist on showing some kind of disclaimer every time you start it up. I don't have ADD and i can tell reality from fiction, so take this "do not attempt x or y or whatever", disclaimer and shove it where the sun don't shine.

Why Was Doom 4 Called Doom?

At least here in Brazil, we call it Rambo 4. (it's the official title here)
  5. usually i block the offending element. i only look elsewhere if everything else fails. As for "digital condoms", if you're on Firefox (or any of it's derivatives), try NoScript and blacklist everything. make an exception only for the very website you know it won't try anything stupid. (do not allow scripts from other websites unless it's absolutely required to view what you're looking for) Try also: NoCoin - Blocks cryptocurrency miners. I Don't Care About Cookies - Nukes most cookie warnings and disclaimers. (You can also use your adblocker to take them out, too) FoxReplace - Don't like profanity or certain modern slangs and other terms? Change them to something else.

    Memorable video game songs

Pretty much every music from the classic era (NFS 1-6) of the Need For Speed series and some of the ones from the Black Box era (Underground through Undercover). This has got to be the most adrenaline-pumping pursuit music i've ever heard. It makes me want to go faster but i know i have to pay close attention to any oncoming SUVs. By the way, does it only have to be original music, or does licensed songs count? if the latter counts, i'd include booting up Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) and listening to "Edge Of The Earth" by 30 Seconds to Mars.

    Whats better then GZdoom.

What about Risen3D? it's similar to Doomsday, but it supports Boom-compatible wads.
  9. Many times my brother have asked me to go out to watch some movies, but these days it's getting way too hard to enjoy any of the current releases. i'm struggling to even laugh at most if not every comedy, and i've had way too many disappointments with action movies. (i wish the endings were simpler again; hero executes the bad guy, peace is restored, the end, period) recent stories about agenda pushing have further contributed to the point that i'm pretty much boycotting everything in sight. to make matters worse, i don't have much cultural baggage when it comes to movies, so i don't know of any alternatives to look for. for much of my life i only watched two types of movies; action and comedy, and i always went with the flow. It worked when i was young but now i fear i'm losing my joy of watching any movies because all i see and hear about is yet another super-hero movie, a remake or a romantic comedy, not to mention biography movies. i want to go out again to a movie theater and have a real good time but how do i separate the wheat from the chaff? how do i know if this movie is any good and if there's no political propaganda going on?

i'm losing my joy of watching movies.

That's exactly my intention. in fact, the same situation happened to me before with music. Back then i listened to the radio quite a lot, and for the most part i loved it. By the mid-2000's however, i couldn't help but notice that all music sounded the same, had the very same structure, and the same lyrics, just with a few different words. Nothing but reskins and re-hashes. I got so upset from listening to someone talk about love for the millionth time, i called it quits. When i got my 1st gen iPod nano, and a broadband connection, i started surfing the web for any and every underground music i'd find. By the way, have anyone watched Once Upon a Time In Hollywood? Is it worth it? For the record, i've watched nearly every Quentin Tarantino movie; i'm only missing Jackie Brown and Death Proof, and a couple ones by other directors but still associated with him, such as Natural Born Killers.

i recently saw a picture of the recently announced Need For Speed Heat, and i have to say.... ...When will this 80's circle-jerk end? it has overstayed it's welcome period, now it's time to die for good.

are there any requirements for something to be truly considered art?
  15. Does anyone know anything about this music in the video above? If i recall correctly, this music, and even parts of it used to be played in a lot of games and even TV shows in the late 90's. Who actually composed it and what is it called originally?

    Unpopular Modern Opinions

Not down here in Brazil. I went to an anime convention earlier this month and most people only seem to care about shonen-type anime. eg.: Saint Seiya, One Punch Man, Bleach, Naruto and so on.

    Unpopular Modern Opinions

    - Indie developers need to stop living in the past and make something truly original, or at least explore themes that are rarely done. for example: What about an egyptian-themed RPG game? why most games in the genre have to be some generic dark/high fantasy? have the player character be some badass pharaoh or the son of one of the many gods. Probably too much to ask, but what about making some licensing deals to make some games based on not-so-famous animes? like a FPS based on Gantz, a Death Note adventure game, a racing game based on either Wangan Midnight or Initial D.
