Oh boy, am I in for it! - I am quite possibly a dork, a bork and a retarded Zork. But, try as I may, i can't get KDIZD to run (hangs head out of window in shame in hope that passing truck will swipe it off before you all gang up to laugh at me...) I've downloaded the latest version of ZDoom (2.17.366) and replaced the previous with this one. My startup .bat reads quite simply "zdoom.exe -IWAD doom.wad -file kdizd.pk3 -warp 3 -skill 4". Yes, the doom.wad is there. Yes, the kdizd.pk3 is there. Yes, the zdoom.ini file has new lines reading stuff like the following: [Doom.KDIZD.Bindings] h=locate [Doom.KDIZD.DoubleBindings] [Doom.KDIZDweapons.WeaponSlots] Slot[1]=Fist Chainsaw Slot[2]=NewPistol Slot[3]=NewShotgun NewSuperShotgun Slot[4]=NewChaingun Slot[5]=RocketLauncher Slot[6]=KDiZDGrenadeLauncher Slot[7]=Rifle so I assume that zdoom is trying to start using kdizd, but i don't recognize ANY changes in graphics when zdoom starts. and that can't be right; right? So what am I doing wrong??? Konfuzed, El Putz-Duderino

So, the news is: that there IS an on-going community of people still passionate about this great game; that new WADs ARE still being built and published (hey, I'm building my own first WAD, although if it ever gets published... heh, don't hold your breath); that new people ARE coming to the game - although maybe just out of curiosity to see what kinds of "games" Gramps was playing - WTF, it's new blood ;-) Me: I started playing in '94 when I was 45, and I still rate it better than a whole load of newer games. But I do like the idea that news of new wads, uploads, etc. get posted on the front page, since I'm one who usually just logs into the site for a few seconds to scan headlines. Just my $0.02 worth anyway...

I'm g-g-gonna see it anyways. AND I'm g-g-gonna bring my big handkerchief too, coz of all those poor li'l zombies gettin whacked.

Oh my God, Sitters - you are awesome! Just downloaded your "Hell on Egypt" wad, plus the Risen3D port, which I'd never heard of before. Egypt plays real well, thanks a bunch! Keep up the great work, it's really appreciated!!!!!
