You could try that version of Eternity which supports recording 1.9 compatible demos. I've never had any issues with it.

Can we at least maintain a list of demos that have been done for this WAD (even with a "This is not a demopack" disclaimer)? I'd like to be able to see which demos haven't been done, and the times of the ones that have been done, so I can record some myself without too much trouble.

I think ShadowRunner has discovered time travel. I started Zdoom and was instantly transported back to 1996.

Doom2 Done Quick uses a special cam file (similar to the format of Quake's REMAiC tool) to move the camera -- it's not recorded manually. That's the sort of thing that would be best (plus not too hard to implement).

Maybe someone should make a somewhat bare-bones demo-playing port based on Eternity or PRBoom which does have such features as recamming, fast fowarding, and slow-motion, etc. All that would be required is some sort of camera definition file included in with the demo. I set up a P200 yesterday and stuck Win98 on it for older games. First thing I did was watch D2DQ with recam - made me think how cool it would be to have that in other demos.

Heh. -
I think it was removed because it had material from the Mordeth TC that was used without permission.

Gah, is it me, or does Demon's Revenge not have enough ammo in it during the first few fights. I can't take out all those imps, demons AND the Knight/Baron with the 32 shells or whatever I'm provided. If I attempt to run through the crowd to get the shell box on the other side, most of the time I end up cornered and unable to escape with much health at all. Ah well, it looks nice. :)

Well I thought it was alright. Yes, the textures were all over the place and the level design is rather sub-par, but it's all about the puzzles. I guess I'm just a sucker for these kinds of levels. I'm at the room with the weird pie-slice things in the center which lower the marble pillars in the corners. -
Wow, that sentence made absolutely no sense.

I remember seeing a picture on the front of a disk box that had the player in a hallway with a cacodemon about to shoot at him (I think), and there was a lives counter in the corner of the status-bar panel with your face. It must have a been a screenshot from a late beta. Edit: Ah, I just looked in that pre-release image archive. I think it's D3.pcx.

Bad Host, but none the less Screens of my map

It looks fairly good, but there's too many LITE* textures being throws around. There's one where an entire wall is LITE5. Those textures should be used sparingly IMO. -
AFAIK, they worked for Softdisk, they weren't called Softdisk.

I've played UD and D2 on NM, trying to get as far as I could without dying. Episode 1 was alright. I beat it all (even secret map, though I did it seperately) fairly quickly. Mainly only targetted the shotgunners, since they inflict terrible damage within seconds. In Ep2, I died stupidly in E2M4, crushed by a crusher while in the middle of fighting a Baron. In Ep3, I got terribly lucky and made it to E3M7 and died while running around in the blood. In Ep4, I only got to E4M2 before being mutilated immediately. In Doom2 I got to MAP08 before getting killed by a pack of demons.

If it's a paper wall, your projectiles and other ammo will go through it. That method fails it in every way imaginable.
-
Simply awesome. Just played HR2 32 with that on and it took 7:53 with 100% kills. :p

If you want insane weapon speed/power, use suprwep8.deh. No need for crappy ripped off levels.
-
Not typing like a retard, for one.

Doom2Xtreme, IIRC, is just a bunch of levels from other WADs (such as MM, MM2, etc) including commercial WADs like TNT and Plutonia. I think there were also some annoying sprite replacements too. Worst. TC. Ever.
-
I remember one being used in Cyberdreams' secret level. You had to get an invul. sphere and shoot the manikin into a teleporter or something. Generally I think they just interfere, but they can be used wisely (like in the example above).

Excellent. Thanks.

By the way, what should I use for Eternal resources... should I just plug eternal.wad into the 'External Resources' box in Doom Builder, or is there a separate WAD file I should use?
-
I'll try and get a map together for this. I won't make any commitments yet though. I've always wanted to do something with the eternal resources. :p If I get something decent started, I'll sign up "officially".

And don't use so much blue. It looks so gaudy.
