You're right, but your points have nothing to do with DOOM or the internet. There are millions or even billions of people over the world who probably have never seen internet, or even a computer or a television set. You could say, there is someone on the other end of the world who is better at DOOM than anybody in this community, and it could be. Does anything make DOOM special in this case? How do we know that the people getting the Olympic Gold are truly the best? With your logic, there could be the next Jordan, the next Kasparov, the next Mozart or the next Einstein hidden deep somewhere. Sadly these people might not reveal their talent ever... but people usually respect the ones who managed to. I see your point but I don't think it takes anywhere.

If you're a NS4 user: - Make sure you have css AND javascript turned on, otherwise you will get default black font. I don't know why javascript is needed to have css, anyone know? (its not needed in NS6/Mozilla/IE) - NS4 doesn't like that the main textbox is transparently over the rune design, it makes the text garbled when you scroll up/down. I made a solution to this by positioning the main textbox lower for NS4 users (it looks worse than originally intended, but it works). Thanks for all the comments!

Peo Sjoblom once offered a ticket to Bali for the first player who succeeds in Plutonia MAP08 NightMare. Andreas "Anthe" Kren did try seriously, but he didn't succeed. It's more of a legend now though... I don't think he would pay ;-)

I'd love to see an RJ done on that map as there is no armor, no mega/soulsphere, just a bunch of health and armor potions (some of them in acid). Make sure you ask Peo for your tickets when you manage it ;-))

I didn't like the e1contest megawad much, but a new demopack is always welcome. Nice job! :-)

This map is damn cool, great looks together with nice gameplay. Monster/ammo/health placement is just perfect, looks like the author has spent lots of time tuning the gameplay (pretty rare that, these days). Challenging as well as fun to play. Best map I played in quite a while...

And COMPET-N didn't start on cdrom.com, it started as ftp://brains.cc.rl.ac.uk/ftp/pub/DoomLMPS/.

Simon Widlake always wrote it as Compet-N, I think the uppercase/lowercase thing comes from DOOM/DooM, people who write DOOM write COMPET-N, people who write DooM write Compet-N.

I really don't want to sound picky, but spell it either COMPET-N or Compet-N.

Yeah, after reading "each level starts u with 200 health and armor i bet u cant beatdis even with that", I thought I would die at least on one of the maps, but no. Waste your disk space somewhere else.

I just find it unbelievable that Wolfenstein 3D is not on the list.

Now I'm fairly surprised no one has mentioned the Russian made DOOM 2D yet...

It's great to see the old-school player Mihha back in action and still doing serious damage. I'm not commenting on the other players because I don't want to get beaten up within a month ;-)

A couple of levels were pretty low on health and armor this time (especially Nick's - but I still managed a 100/100). Nice maps by Fredrik, Gemini, Jonathan, Sir Robin and Anthony. Opulent's would've been nice if you could generate some monster fighting :)

Actually, these titles are derived from Doom Honorific Titles. The original Schwarzenegger titles (D1S, D2S) appeared there, but that was a once-only achievement (only the first person succeeding received the title). Later we thought everyone achieving these should get a title. The Super Schwarzie titles came up somewhat after people started trying 100% secret NightMare demos (and managing). Just as D1S, D2S, these are separate titles for both games (D1SS, D2SS). But none of them have "COMPET-N" in their names, since they are ideas by Frank Stajano of DHT, which we expanded a bit.

Congrats to AdamW for getting a spot in the 2nd megawad :P

Archon, MAP12 ends with a teleporter, not a skull switch... Mattrim, Question 10 didn't ask anything about the other weapons in the game, just the weapons listed.
