Who wants to start a modding/mapping team?

I don't have a lot of experience in releasing maps, but my ideas and execution have become much better. PM me if you want more details.

Do you wish modern megawads were shorter?

What if you did an episodic release, like 9 levels several times over? and once you call it done, you can release a "megawad" of it as a standalone instead of however many episodes you want to do?

The Official 'Trying to Find a Specific WAD' Thread

So on my trying to remember doom wads ( I was less than 5 years old, so the years it could of been were 93-96) the cyberdemon with the door that says happy valentines day on it, and the door texture was a modified BIGDOOR4 texture, I'm still really wanting to replay this but really can't figure out what wad it was, also If my memory is right, the cyberdemon was kind of in a lake type area?

So my take is this, I love longer megawads if they are interesting in the levels themselves. I want varying architecture, decorations, traps, places, and see that you spent your times making this thing in a great and fantastic ways. I want interactivity, light switch hunting, the works. Hell if we are going modern ports, possibly a story in the level, dialogue and maybe a couple of new monsters and weapons. This doesn't mean I won't play a 1994 megawad either or a megawad from someone that is just starting out. That's just a preference. As long as it is interesting, and not just slaughtering things room after room without any feeling or reason. now would I also be down with a megawad with like 1000 maps that all lasted 10-30 minutes per map? You bet your Sweet ass I would!
  12. Is there a simple way to, after a whole monster closet is dispensed of, to lower a wall? I feel like its like starring me in the face, but because of a sudden change of schedule, my brain is scrambled.

    .... Ohhhh boy
  14. I'll have to check this out!
  15. A anew idea for teleporting monsters. So we have your usual set up, but the floor that drops out (or ceiling that raises) also continuously goes up and down, to possibly deny the monster from coming out, to throw a possible "random" chance of a monster coming out, like a slow trickle on purpose to keep enemies coming for in theory a long time. I have no idea how viable this is (will test it later) but was wondering if anyone had tried this before?
