  1. Had what could be described as a mini-hurricane this morning, with dark skies, thunder/lightning, wind and rain moving quickly together, flooding my street completely (which is the first time I've ever seen it happen!). And it finished as abruptly as it had begun, now it's all hot and sticky again. (it was even sunny beforehand!)

      Here (Bristol) there was thankfully a pleasant breeze today, which make things far more pleasant. It had been getting a bit ridiculous.

      My parents are on a coach tour of Spain at the moment; they just called me, and mentioned that the temperature where they are had peaked at around 47 degrees C today.
